Rescinding the Roadless Rule would be the single largest rollback of protections for rivers in U.S. history — putting freshwater habitat at serious risk. This rule is essential for recovering and maintaining declining wildlife populations.

Another great thread from Derek Guy.
Although it's rarely expressed in outright terms, people often use a very simple heuristic when solving fashion problems: they wish to look rich, which is often disguised as "respectable."

I will show you why this rarely leads to good outfits. 🧵

Another banger of a thread.
Any time I talk about a wealthy person's outfit, someone in the comments is quick to reply: "They're rich, you think they care?" No one has to care about my opinions or clothes, regardless of net worth.

But let's talk about the connection between wealth and aesthetics 🧵

Since my tweet about Jeff Bezos, I've been getting a lot of replies such as these. "Where do these dress rules come from?" "When do they change?"

These are very good questions, so let me answer them. 🧵

Once were warriors.

Between the girl being raped and the graphic domestic violence it was certainly a mood killer. Powerful movie though.
Here’s a fun distraction what’s the worst movie you’ve watched on a date? Mine is a tie between “Hidden Colors” and “La La Land.”

Seize, then sell, scrap or sink.
I’m worried for a future where it becomes increasingly common for merchant ships to not have a flag state, meaningful insurance, and generally not abide by international laws or norms.

I cannot fully grasp the implications, but it’s not good.

A great post from Derek Guy. Always learn something interesting from him that lifts the story from ‘just’ men’s fashion.
Earlier this week, I asked which tie knot you think looks better. Of course, you can wear whichever you like. But here's the social history behind both knots and why some people consider one better than the other. 🧵
One knot is bigger, more symmetrical. The other knot is smaller, less symmetrical.

Which looks better to you?

So everyone seems in a rush to replace F16s with very much more expensive F35. Given an arguably hamstrung Ukraine is demonstrating that even MLU F16s can hold their own maybe the answer is some F35s for superiority over opponents next gen, and lots and lots of F16s for saturation.
