No Modern changes until September due to RCQ season is so much worse than any complaints about Standard.

I share this concern. Moreover, with 50% of Standard sets being Universes Beyond from now on, it would be nice if the in-universe Magic sets had a more "classic Magic" feel.

Anyway, excuse me but I have to go buy some Premodern cards 👋🏽
I think my biggest concern with Wizards leaning more into "known themes, pop-culture references (I dislike the term tropes)" within a in-Magic release, is that it becomes that little bit closer to Universes Beyond instead. I dislike the idea of a "proper in-Magic set" becoming a USP in the future.

Personally I'm not thrilled with Aetherdrift. Racecars are not my thing. The themes of so many Magic sets lately are just … dumb. Wacky Wild West? Clue? VHS "bad vertical hold" Horror? And we've got no respite with Outer Space and Universes Beyond coming up.

Where is my Magic: The Gathering? 😢

Aetherdrift feels like it wants to be five things at once and fails to achieve any of them. It certainly doesn't feel like a traditional Magic set. It feels like yet another Unfinity-ish set in the vein of MKM and OTJ.

As true as it always was, made more obvious with each passing day. Cube will outlive Magic.

🏆 This deck was sick. Multiple "combo" turns where I got to deal 15+ damage off a Cyclops and a friend. Might've even had one too many lands but who's to say?

For years I've suspected the conventional way of shuffling cubes was not very effective. I did a detailed analysis, including simulations of common methods, to understand it better and come up with an efficient strategy: the Broadcast Shuffle.

The Shuffler Really is Broken: Finding the Best Method for Shuffling Cubes — Lucky Paper
The conventional Cube wisdom may be to shuffle a cube as a group, exchanging piles randomly around the table, but in this case the shuffler is in fact broken! Here's why and how to shuffle your cube t...

Scrappy lil trophy RG deck. Got a bit lucky and def should've tried to play some off color guildgates to maybe enable the draw 3 mode on the Briefcases but going 2->4 in most games was good enough anyway.

Thoughts on standard after playing my first fnm. Cards have too much text. The casual gamers cannot handle cards with this much text.

@andy.luckypaper.co Are you or Anthony planning on making it to SCGCon Atlanta this week or Charlotte in March? I know there's a lot of cubing at those events despite it not being a main focus.

I’m in Japan right now so I’m obliged to remind the world — we don’t want AI. We want a robust rail system. We want trains. Metros. High speed. Locals. Cute trains. Efficient trains. Trains.

Another lil scrapper of a deck that clawed its way to 7 wins. Turns out every time I play P&K I win.

7 easy wins after a confidence-shaking loss in the mirror. Opponents durdled and died. MVPs were Red 4 drops (duh), slops to Tah-Crop Skirmisher, but it's a better two than anything else I could find.
