Not only is it Black History Month. It’s also its 100th anniversary!!

To commemorate its centennial, I wrote a list of 10 Black films, one from each of the last 10 decades, to stream.

Was surprised how many people noticed the abundance of influencers WB invited to the WUTHERING HEIGHTS premiere. I used that to talk about influencers as celebrities, their lack of transparency on the pay for play model, and trying to be "honest" in their reviews.

This is the first time I've noticed people bringing up how many influencers went to an event

After MAI-CHAN'S DAILY LIFE, I think I'm gonna hold off on the torture stuff for a while 'cos they ain't up to snuff. Anyway, I'm diving back into the work of Ken'ichi Ugana for Midnight Movie Madness.

I present to you EXTRANEOUS MATTER (COMPLETE EDITION) by Ken'Ichi Ugana.

Had the inkling to watch more Chinese crime movies; specially noir. So I'm currently watching ONLY THE RIVER FLOWS by Wei Shujun.

Any other examples of this genre from China? Or as I like to call it, Chi-Noir?

I have lots of Hong Kong film blindspots need to be rectified and this is one of them.

Currently watching HE'S A WOMAN, SHE'S A MAN by Peter Chan.

Well, since I am under massive critical deadlines I've finished a screenplay instead. Who can recommend a good agent?

For tonight's Midnight Movie Madness, I go from blaxploitation back to Japanese splatter. I've heard of the manga the film is based on and its extreme origins. But honestly I chose this film because of the short run time.

I present to you MAI-CHAN'S DAILY LIFE by Sado Satō.

Not knowing that this month is Black History Month (despite my viewing of BONES), I've decided to go into another film for Midnight Movie Madness, also starring the great Pam Grier.

I present to you COFFY by Jack Hill.

Any film that has Lam Suet in it has a 95% chance that it's going to be entertaining.

I don't make the rules, it's just science.

It's funny and kinda disconcerting that one can know Chow Yun-fat and yet not know any of his comedies.

Not me, personally, but you know what I mean.

Currently watching THE FUN, THE LUCK AND THE TYCOON by Johnnie To.

I love how there's always one moment in a Sam Raimi genre film where an actor would act like they're turning into a Deadite.

I always knew there was a reason why she was my least favourite Bennet sister.
I would like everyone to understand that Talulah Riley was with Elon Musk because she wanted to be there and they had much in common. She was not some poor put upon woke darling trapped with a monster.

If Variety was legit:

"'Melania' has amassed $7 million in its global debut. It's a great result for a documentary film, yet the Amazon MGM release has a $70+ million price tag including global marketing expenses, so profitability remains a ways away."

Here's what Variety said about Sinners:
