Hey y'all- just wanted to share my site because I'm terrified about things going on with my day job. I'm not silly enough to think this will ever replace that income, but any & all support (free & paid) helps right now. And shares are greatly appreciated. 🖤 from-the-desk-of-the-horror-chick.ghost.io

What in poo-perfect hell is this?
Chico Marx walks into Groucho’s office at Spyglass. “Okay boss, remember when-a you told us to figure out a way to top the bad press? I did it!”

Groucho: “You dummy, I said find a way to STOP the bad press.”

Chico: “Uh oh…”

My new book on 2000s Hollywood comedies, Funny Business, will be available on October 6 and is officially up for pre-order right now. In my wholly objective opinion, you and every person in your family should do that. You can order your copy at the link below.

I’m touched to be pull quoted in this trailer for #THEFORBIDDENCITY, hitting Digital 3/17 from Well Go USA. This is a special film I will remember after many other titles fade. “Soaring and incomparable” is how I still feel it plays, & I highly recommend prioritizing this one. youtu.be/E02CbJ9dCQY

It is films like this that make me so glad I started doing Midnight Movie Madness in the first place.
After the surprising EXTRANEOUS MATTER (COMPLETE EDITION), I'm going into more Japanese horror tales. Hearing lots of praise for this short film, I've chosen it for Midnight Movie Madness.

Was surprised how many people noticed the abundance of influencers WB invited to the WUTHERING HEIGHTS premiere. I used that to talk about influencers as celebrities, their lack of transparency on the pay for play model, and trying to be "honest" in their reviews.

Had the inkling to watch more Chinese crime movies; specially noir. So I'm currently watching ONLY THE RIVER FLOWS by Wei Shujun.

Any other examples of this genre from China? Or as I like to call it, Chi-Noir?

I have lots of Hong Kong film blindspots need to be rectified and this is one of them.

For tonight's Midnight Movie Madness, I go from blaxploitation back to Japanese splatter. I've heard of the manga the film is based on and its extreme origins. But honestly I chose this film because of the short run time.

It's funny and kinda disconcerting that one can know Chow Yun-fat and yet not know any of his comedies.

Not me, personally, but you know what I mean.
