#TrekPolitics isn’t just about the political allegory in #StarTrek, we also have fun pointing out the quirky details during our #Bobservations segments. In this case, Mary Trump and Bob Cesca discuss some Kirkisms from “A Taste of Armageddon” (TOS).

One of the strangest aspects of aging that they don't warn you about is watching as history gets rewritten right in front of your face and people 20 years younger than you confidently tell you about something you lived through and get it completely wrong.

Archaeologist here. For 99.5% of human history (ca 300-400,000 years), we were peaceful (no war). There was conflict and smaller scale violence, but countless studies on the 119 known modern hunter gatherer groups show cooperation, negotiation, and peace instead of conflict. Please read books.
Revenge/physical combat was how people settled things for literally millions of years, it's normal human behavior, we're wolves not sheep, the government project trying to social engineer us and domesticate us into sheep has been unsuccessful

A few months ago I was at a bar playing this episode on the tv with my best friend who had never seen it. Watching her absolutely horrified reaction as the story’s last minutes played out was like seeing them for the first time myself.
Burgess Meredith, born today in 1907

Of “Time Enough at Last”, he said: “I don’t think I’ve ever done any other project that people talk to me more about than that show. .. It’s gotten to the point where when they first approach me, I almost know what they’re going to say.”

Literally exactly what the Founders worried about. Exactly.
A foreign country bribed the president with a bar of gold.

Where are my Originalists at?
"It was tough to beat Apple, but the Swiss did it." said one administration official.

How the Swiss convinced Trump to drop tariffs with gifts of a Rolex desk clock and a 1 kg gold bar.

If you're after big drug dealers, Richard Sackler lives in Texas.
Pete Hegseth announces Operation Southern Spear.

There doesn’t seem to be reporting yet on what this means. But I assume it’s not good.

The fact that some people think that is some sort of "gotcha" question reveals so much more about themselves.
"What if one of YOUR favorite politicians/celebrities/etc is on the list?" Did you all not notice how quickly we dropped Neil Gaiman when we found out about the things he did? Do you know how beloved that guy used to be and how loathed he is now? I think that right there should answer your question.

Other folks have said it, but let me just note that:

(1) lots of talented, must-read journalists have been let go from their jobs over the last year

(2) millions of Americans are abandoning current media outlets and looking for new alternatives

Seems like a sure-fire business opportunity here?

Seeing as how he was not facing any federally-brought charges and he doesn’t seem to realize that this pardon does not cover any state-level charges he may face, I don’t think we should give this dummy back his license.
Having been pardoned by Trump, Rudy Giuliani wants his bar license “immediately reinstated,” per his rep Ted Goodman
