If it weren't for the jokes, could SILVER STREAK be considered noir or at least noir-ish? Discuss.

If I’m spending $100k on a personal vehicle, it should come with an oscillation overthruster and drive through mountains via the Eighth Dimension.

You're kidnapped. The characters from the last show you watched are coming to rescue you.

Oh I know, I fucked up...

Post a perfect album from the 90’s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or Alice In Chains.

BUGONIA - A remake of the S Korean film SAVE THE GREEN PLANET but still feeling uniquely the work of director Yorgos Lanthimos. Can’t wait for more people to see this so we can discuss the ending.

NOUVELLE VAGUE - Director Richard Linklater loves him some French New Wave and it really shows here. Beautifully shot with an incredible eye towards detail, he tells the story of the production of Goddard’s BREATHLESS. Doesn’t have much to add to the story, but maybe that’s the point.

IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT - Lowkey and at times darkly funny story about revenge, letting go of hate and just trying to live after trauma.

WAKE UP DEAD MAN - Another solid and entertaining outing from Johnson and Craig. While the script might be a little looser than the previous two entries, it makes up for it with the thematic exploration of its young priest character.

Who robbed the Louvre? Right answers only.

THE MASTERMIND - Director Kelly Reichardt in fine form as always. She’s never been afraid to let us just sit with her characters and this is no exception.

ARCO - Pleasant enough kids science-fiction fantasy. Not too deep but has a few takeaways for the young-ins.
October 18, 2025 at 8:39 PM
HAMNET - Impeccably made film that slowly builds to its thesis about grief. Fantastic performances all around, especially on the child actors on whose shoulders this really rests. Somehow, I could not connect emotionally with it, though I seem to be in the minority on that.
