Came across an interesting fact yesterday. The last islands Denmark sold to the USA were in the Caribbean and included one called Little St James. In recent years, it's become more famous as Epstein Island. Bad precedent, nothing good comes of the USA buying islands from Denmark.

The grim #Netflix #SevenDials series must have spent a fortune on clothes, cars and sets to create a 1920s ambience. However, the railway scenes are totally in accurate; 1950s British Railway carriages in 1950/60s liveries hauled by a loco in BR livery. I'm available for consultancy, fees moderate

Caught up with heavily promoted #Netflix #SevenDials last night. Woeful, I don't know the book but it's more Enid Blyton than Agatha Christie; an implausible plot, a hapless detective and a whacky secret society. Wooden acting and no pace throughout even Helena Bonham Carter's cameo couldn't save it

Everything about this sucks. Any news on the establishment of a committee to bring to justice those who perpetrated genocide in Gaza? #Blair never fails in his quest to find new ways to discredit himself.

#SpursVilla predictably awful, you’d think it was a Villa home game. I don’t believe that #Franke suddenly became a bad manager in the taxi from Brentford. There’s something fundamentally wrong, I think it’s the same reason #Arsenal were in the doldrums for years, nice stadium shame about the team.

Who better to lecture people on pariotism than the lazy, incompetent, compulsive liar who partied while people died, agreed the worst Brexit deal possible, lied to Parliament, ignored the Ministerial Code and promoted sex pests?

The biggest mistake of the #Blair governmént, apart from Iraq, was not joining thé #€urozone. This would have welded us to #EU, made #Brexit impossible and thus avoided thé décline and despair which thé #Brexit traitors délivered. Good to see Bulgaria has more sensé.

Now that football coaches in England have finally rediscovered thé potential of thé long throw, how long will it take them to remember that you cannot be offside from a throw in? It amazes me this is rarely exploited.

That’s a shame, it’s a pity farmers are incapable of à bit of financial planning as many others have to do. I saw this welcome #Labour change to inheritance tax as a sort of fine on the farmers who so enthusiastically supported the #Brexit disaster. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Very interesting if long overdue. Let’s start with #Brexit.
Starmer has launched a formal investigation into foreign election interference, The Times reports. It follows Reform’s Nathan Gill’s conviction for taking bribes from Russia.

The inquiry will be led by top civil servant Philip Rycroft who has been given licence to "go wherever he wants to go".

All systems have flaws, all systems have failures. But after the chaos, fragmentation, & blatant fraud of the last 30 years, a unified, accountable rail service sounds fine to me. We always end up paying either end. I'd rather eliminate the freemarket parasites from that equation #politicslive

There’s little doubt #Brexit has been a major impediment to the #UK economy. Even elements of the mainstream media are beginning to acknowledge this. I wish #Labour was more vocal on this to explain why we’re in the mess we are and offering a way out of it. A new #Swiss style deal offers promise.
