It’s all about social cohesion, which is why we’re relentlessly hammering a guy who had nothing to do with it, and launching a hate campaign against “immigration”
Wouldn’t want to politicise this tragedy. That would be terribly crass.

Bari Weiss' reporting experience is summed up by the time the NYT bizarrely gave her the cushiest possible assignment - go to Australia and hang out and write about it - and she produced a story so bad and so wrong about basic facts of Australian life that it became a running joke there.

Author says Albo has shown obvious empathy, would be heckled at funerals and criticises Segal report.

Doesn't say what he should've done differently.

Does a Royal Commission typically slow action, or can governments act in parallel while one is underway?

My instinct is the latter, but that’s just a guess.

I'm interested to understand the mechanism here: which specific antisemitism-focused policies does Howard think would have prevented the Bondi attack?
John Howard calls push to tighten gun laws an 'attempted diversion'
Former prime minister John Howard, whose gun reforms fundamentally reshaped Australia, says he would support further tightening, but it cannot be made into a distraction or an "excuse" not to tackle antisemitism.
