200 yrs ago my town went to “war” with the next town upstream over control of the canal lock. It involved pitchforks & clubs and the worst injury was when one guy got muddied and bruised after getting shoved in the river. Today, the residents of both towns still side-eye one another.

My favorite mug broke this morning, so I’m currently having tea from a second-rate one while eating a worryingly large amount of leftover Christmas cookies.

I made three frames, and I’ll start with my fave- originally inspired by the brilliant Mothman fic Wave Hello to the Void, it got some critical feedback and the Mothman plan fell apart. But it turned out amazing 😍

This is mine, it's ridiculously small (30x15 stitches, 2x2 on 32ct evenweave) bc I had ideas about making it into a pin or pendant or something?! Gifted to the spectacular stitcher @thesearethekids.bsky.social for helping me out with better quality photos when my phone couldn't handle it 😅
