The Bechdel Test was a joke about lesbians feeling alienated by the hetornormativity of hollywood movies. it resonated for bigger reasons but it was never meant to be about the value of the movie. and it has removed its original queer context.
Put it on the shelf with all the other abused terms.

"The Bechdel test" is to my mind very much like "Godwin's Law": these were general observations about pernicious habits in our society that people somehow interpreted as being moral laws that must be followed to the letter.

i read an early novel by an author who's become very popular in western m/m fantasy romance and i didn't care for it on several levels. i'm curious if they've improved where i thought it was weak or if it's just a matter of me not caring much for the stuff that gets popular

i've played 4 endings of Silent Hill f despite hating a lot of the game play, it was SO good. Such a necessary and thoughtful story.

if I'm not using my VPN twitter shows the "may be inappropriate" message over lots of images. When i click through i can see the ones that aren't actually censored.
but also the image flashes up when i first click through even if it's then hidden so no matter what you can get a glimpse
