I’ve been seen and attacked.
So my experience of being on the spectrum is … I don’t know when I’m funniest

Because the things yall die at me saying are me being honest

And the actual bits often sink like lead balloons

The conflation of "writing high quality literary text" with "emulating award-winning authors" says so much about how poorly our culture understands & values language and the construction of meaning.
Put writing high quality literary text on the list of things that AIs used to not be able to do but now can do

With fine-tuning, now outperforming MFA-trained expert writers at emulating award-winning authors when rated blindly by MFA-trained experts papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers....

The message on IG from Alice (posted by her friend Sandy Ho). As always, Alice blazes a path for the rest of us, fearlessly & with humor: "I'm honored to be your ancestor & believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all."

No. No. No. Waking up to the devastating news that Alice Wong has passed. I have no words yet, except to say that Alice was a powerful force for good in the world & I loved her. I posted the below just before her passing.
Tapping the sign: "Staying alive is a lot of work for a disabled person in an ableist society."—Alice Wong in the Introduction to Disability Visibility
I find myself increasingly wondering how able bodied people appear to believe that being disabled is"easy."

There once was a time I could manage several messaging convos at a time. These days, I’m lucky if I’m not overcome with communication paralysis when I receive a single email in need of a response. (This is only an exaggeration about half of the days.)

Regularly scheduled reminder that "don't speak ill of the dead" is an old wives tale—a general rule for not angering spirits/bringing bad luck upon oneself—not a moral or ethical mandate.

Like all rules, it has exceptions, which help us identify the dead of whom we can (and maybe should) speak ill.
