Edinburgh International Festival and Birds of Paradise Theatre Company (BOP) are working together to investigate ways of improving access to live music at the Festival with a focus on the experience of d/Deaf audiences. We know how often people are asked to input to focus groups. Our goal is to learn, test, and act based on your direct experience. To do this we're with Trudi Collier researching solutions to build and test new access provisions (like BSL interpretation or new event types) that are driven by d/Deaf audience experience. We need your input!Join a focus group (online in BSL or in-person with BSL/captioning) to discuss what works—and what doesn't—for accessing music genres from rock to classical.In-person: 6:00pm 28th Oct, The Hub, Edinburgh (refreshments provided)Online: November (BSL only) dates to follow, register interestYour insights will directly inform the new access provisions we trial. As a thank you, we will be offering £50 vouchers for all participants. To sign up to a focus group facilitated by Trudi Collier please contact: Trudi.collier@btinternet.com or text me at 07739963423

Gary's Treasure Island really, really good. Really good. Dead engaging performance plus super smart and neat as an adaptation. Mega fresh, totally enjoyed the story anew.
My listen in for @thelistuk.bsky.social

After 7 weeks of inspiring campaigning and fundraising by the community, raising £90,000 to demonstrate the importance of Aberdeen Art Centre, Aberdeen City Council voted today not to reinstate funding to the city’s home of grassroots creativity.
We’re sad to hear that Aberdeen Arts Centre won’t receive council funding. The centre has been a lifeline for grassroots creativity in the city for decades.

The Castlegate Arts team are working hard for the city and deserves our support now more than ever.

Super strong year. Buzzed for VL. What couldve been "difficult second album" syndrome instead broke through as a wildly funny and hugely sensitive work fuelled by the dogged determination of @kieranhurley.bsky.social & Gary to honor these wee guys & hone a thing of razor sharpness. Good work troops.

I'm still adding to the Scottish Theatre starter packs as more organisations make the move to BlueSky, but individual artists are harder to spot. If you're a Scotland-based theatre professional, comment to be added. Shares to widen the net appreciated!

Lots of fun to be found in the Netflix Behind the Curtain doc for Stranger Things: The First Shadow. The necessary messiness of workshops and previews, the anxiety, the uncertainty, the relief, the machine of making a show. Pining for a slice of that heartbreak and ecstasy.
