I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2026, 'Bridging Generations', is a call-to-action.

A reminder that the responsibility of remembrance doesn't end with the survivors - it lives on through their children, their grandchildren and through all of us. 1/

Judging by the dog's backs I think the snow total was more like 18". Powder flowed over what I am calling my toy snowshoes. Progress was exhausting.

I brought Ike back inside. Grace loved the snow. Logan was trying to follow in my tracks and when I stopped he was standing on the snowshoes.

View on my morning walk.

I could not make it to my typical vantage point because the snow was too deep for my tiny snow shoes.

I think about 16-18" on the ground with some drifts. It was still lightly snowing and not too cold 14°F/ -10°C.

This one goes out to the family and friends of Alex Pretti - a son of the watershed. Words can not express the horror of what ICE did on Saturday. May his memory guide all in changing the US federal government to be truthful, transparent & for the people

Third leg acquired.

Once the scent of leg number two was gone, it allowed them to zone in on a location on the other side of the property.

Logan did not want give up his deer treasure. But he traded for a pile of treats.

All these bones be mine!

I had high hopes coyotes would carry off the deer leg. Since dogs were running off with it and posturing to fight, today it is destined for the trash.

Alas, it appears to have unleashed renewed search for legs 3 & 4.

Thread about Minneapolis. A good read.
I came to Minneapolis to report on what's going on, and one of the main questions I showed up with is "just what is the scale of the resistance?" After all, we're all used to the news calling Portland a "war zone" or whatever when it's just some protests in one part of town.
