No doubt Earthbound is very influantial, to me it’s also the only turnbased RPG series that I finished till the end. Mother 3 is the only one left to be played.
like, Mother 3 was my actual first time with a Mother game, and its probably still my favorite easily, but im playing Earthbound proper for the first time and like

i get why so many indie RPGs are inspired by this thing. hell more SHOULD if im being real.

Working in the book industry in Japan, I’m struck by how people accept the insane practice of “weekly manga serialization” which erodes creators’ health as if it were perfectly normal. It’s terrifying.

Thinking of doing live art streams @piczel.tv - no experience whatsoever, but want to do it for a while now.

No idea if viewers are interested in doodles and studies. Don’t see them being done so far. All I see is finishing illustration and comic pages. Sometimes writing.

If you make your artwork at least twice the size it needs to be when printed/reproduced, shrinking it will tighten your details and lines and make everything so much better. Not to mention its easier work in details with a bigger canvas.

This works both digitally and traditionally.

[OC] I was invited for a level 17 dnd one shot but it got cancelled. Fortunately I had time to design this eldritch queen even if she didn't get played.

A Tiefling aberrtant mind sorceress, she became the leader of a cult to a great old one and now has them do good deeds from their scary castle. 🧿

I enjoyed Yuu Yuu Hakusho much more when it started as a school drama with ghost story plot. After that it became a typical shonen which is not my kind of genre.

This year I strongly recommend picking up a hobby in which you make something, that you don't intend to profit from in any way (monetary value OR social standing,) if you don't already have one.

Creating something your own for the sake of creating alone is a uniquely worthwhile experience.

I avoid these reels like the plague, but scrolling and clicking in general is a problem!

Sometimes I just want to quit the whole 'being on the internet' because of this. It's not just the algorithms, It's just wanting more and more information to be satisfied with which I won't be.
Installed some blocker apps on my phone and desktop that prevent me from scrolling through Youtube Shorts and Reels.

Insane how much longer my mornings have been ever since

You have to get really freaky about something. Like, obsessed, self indulgent, and watch how your art flourishes when you draw what the deepest, darkest brainworm wants, rather than what's 'pretty' or 'popular'.

Get weird with it!!

Do not stop drawing for yourself. Because once you get a taste of social media interactions with your art It's hard to pull away from that. Don't draw what you think people wanna see, draw what YOU WANNA DRAW.

There are many tutorials to drawing specific things but I think training your eyes in general is more important!

your eyes are a huge part of your art - and i think master copies are a very good way to train them vs what your hands can currently do!
