Lights On is a short, 30-45 min liminal horror game inspired by old school Half Life 1 mods.

The player navigates the empty halls of a haunted hotel with the goal of turning the light on in every single dark room while avoiding whispering shadows.

so no interesting updates just yet because I've been struggling to fix the cockpit jittering during interpolation

I *think* I have it solved but I'm gonna have to redo a bunch of stuff

It's worth noting this thing has not only had a terrible model for almost 20 years, but terrible rules as well.

I'm really hoping they make it tabletop worthy this time around.

it's really obnoxious how nearly all modern media is packaged to be as easy to digest as possible

every show, every public address, every script speaks down to it's userbase in a way that insists infantilization is what the public desires

and I fucking despise it
Yeah the Babydoll episode of BTAS is a big example but really a majority of the DCAU was pretty much written in a way that yeah it's a kid's cartoon but you'll have moments that actually don't talk down to the audience/thinks to think about-

going for a walk at the industrial-mill-turned-park and the evening light really had me studying the old buildings there

I think after GE flops I'll make a game set in the southern suburbs. it's a place no one really explores, tho I guess there's a good reason for that
