Today, I’m thankful to be alive.

Three years ago, we weren’t sure if I’d survive.

But I did. And I’m dedicated to fighting for healthcare for everyone. Because healthcare is a human right.

Thankful to just be alive
Three years ago, I almost died. Today, I share my story, why it fuels my fight to advocate for others, and why we must rebuild the American healthcare system.

Things I didn’t expect my mom to say today: “Have you heard any of RFK’s poetry? They’re all sick!”

And this is the man who the Atlantic (disappointingly and irresponsibly) called “The Most Important Man in Science”

I’m thankful my thanksgiving won’t be full of MAGA family divides. I’m thankful my MAGA voting mom finally woke up & is now a Trump critic.

To all whose family is still a source of stress due to political division I see you. I’ve been there. Be patient. Be kind to yourself. We’ll get through this.

This is a very real potential.

The AI bubble will burst. I know I used to work in the tech industry. It’s hot right now but it will normalize and bullish investment will drop.

It could trigger something similar to the tech bubble burst.
The stock market's gains are being overwhelmingly driven by seven Big Tech companies who have invested heavily in AI, which has made tech oligarchs even wealthier.

But when that AI bubble bursts, the rest of us will be stuck holding the bag.

Be warned.

Pretty much.

Which is why I’m not taking any corporate PAC money.
This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

Posted video on TikTok reminding folks not to shop at Starbucks due to the strike.

Suggested maybe try a local place in your neighborhood.

Never had so many negative, nasty, anti-labor, anti-service industry responses. Some are bots of course but still.

We have a crisis of empathy in America.

This is a gross abuse of power and his position in the church.

We must return to one of America’s core founding principles: the separation of church and state. Freedom of religion is codified in our Constitution, and the alt right is using evangelism to fuel its coffers.

The news is scary.

People are afraid for their safety.

Costs are rising.

Folks are losing jobs.

The holidays aren’t always joyful.

Be sure to extend kindness and compassion to our neighbors especially now. Everyone is fighting an unseen battle. Grace takes only a moment but can make a day.

This is a big deal.

Though I do not like the prospect of yet another septuagenarian in charge.

It is unacceptable for the United States to present a solution to the Russian invasion of Ukraine that includes Ukraine giving up its sovereign - and illegally occupied - territory. Full stop. We cannot reward acts of violence that go against international law. That is not the way.

PSA: how to spot AI crap and fake stories.

And please don’t share AI and fake stories. Even if they seem nice. They are just not true.

🛑 Reminder: Starbucks baristas are still on strike. 🛑

Don’t cross a picket line! Instead, patronized one of the many locally owned coffee shops in your area. Support workers and their right to organize.

I loved my History Teacher Latter from Old School in Lexington. ☕️

A swastika IS a hate symbol. It is a symbol of white supremacy, anti-semitism, homophobia, racism, violence, and so much more horrible things. This is no longer turning a blind eye to the situation but actively and openly accepting Nazis. That is not ok.
Leavitt skips a question about the Coast Guard no longer classifying swastikas as hate symbols

If a Senator becomes a lame duck & stops responding to constituent requests they shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

If you’re a lame duck for your continents then don’t hurt them with your harmful legislation.

Mitch McConnell is not responding to constituents but voted to destroy the hemp industry.

When we take care of people, we all win - ESPECIALLY the economy.
Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

The unfortunate reality is, though, that it still might not pass the Senate and if it does get to Trump‘s desk, I don’t trust that he won’t veto it. We can certainly hope, but this president and administration is hardly predictable.

I spoke with an eastern Kentucky Trump Republican & a politico Democrat in California.

Both read my policies.

One said “Your policies are pretty progressive.”

The other “We align on pretty much everything; your policies are particularly good for your district.”

The answer may surprise you.

Kentucky kids & teachers deserve more.

We rank 48th in starting teacher pay & 49th in support staff pay.

Teachers & staff need raises. We must invest in textbooks, classroom supplies & tech.

Teachers are the foundation of our economy & must be treated that way.
November 17, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Who wouldn’t want to be a millionaire? But at what point does it stop? At what point does increasing your own pay at the detriment of your workers stop making sense?

The more we pay everyday people, the more the economy generally flourishes. More consumers means more spend & more profit. For ALL.
SNAP is a lifeline for workers in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.

My name is Erin Petrey, I’m running for Congress in Kentucky & I have Crohn’s Disease.

Some have told me to not admit I have a disability, that it makes me look weak. But having a disability makes you stronger. We fight stigmas & navigate the world differently. Disabilities make us strong as hell.

My old office where I interned during the ACA passage working for Rep Ben Chandler.

We forget that Congress’s most important work is constituent work: it’s not sexy, is a lot of paperwork, but has so much impact. I’m committed to providing exceptional support to all of my constituents if elected.

The weather is turning cold. Wherever you are, be sure to familiarize yourself with the resources for our homeless neighbors. Many cities have emergency hotlines to pick folks up and take them to a warm place.

In Lexington? Call 211.

“He needs to be behind bars.”

My 3x Trump voting mother.

Who is now a registered Democrat.

And has a list of grievances to rival Martin Luther against him.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. We have to be strong and protect each other but more importantly: GET TO WORK.
