Y’all today is the best day ever: I finally got to meet a Highland Cow! 🐮

My grandfather, Robert Anderson, would go on to serve as an MP in the Pacific Theatre in the Philippines.

For his and all of the American servicemen who left their homes and families to protect us, I thank you and remember you and your service today.

The far right is so obsessed with this dog whistle.

We need to reduce voter barriers so that *legit voters* can have fewer barriers to cast their votes. Voter fraud is so incredibly rare. But our system does not make it easy to vote.

Honored to be endorsed by the Alliance for American Leadership. Thank you for believing in me, my campaign, and my position to restore America as a diplomatic leader.

Read my thoughts on Substack on why this is important, my priorities, and why it is important for Kentucky. Link in bio.

❄️ Stay safe & warm out there Kentucky! ❄️

Schools across the district are closed, delayed, or on NTI today.

Use caution on roads & esp bridges.

For our homeless neighbors, call 211 for community support for shelters & other critical services.

Bring furry friends inside - Lila was not pleased.

I had my 20 year high school reunion yesterday & found this in a yearbook. I’ve been fighting this fight for a long time for Kentucky & I’m not about to stop. The South has been left behind due to broken promises & backroom deals. I want to rebuild the American South into a prosperous place.

PSA: how to spot AI crap and fake stories.

And please don’t share AI and fake stories. Even if they seem nice. They are just not true.

🛑 Reminder: Starbucks baristas are still on strike. 🛑

Don’t cross a picket line! Instead, patronized one of the many locally owned coffee shops in your area. Support workers and their right to organize.

I loved my History Teacher Latter from Old School in Lexington. ☕️

My name is Erin Petrey, I’m running for Congress in Kentucky & I have Crohn’s Disease.

Some have told me to not admit I have a disability, that it makes me look weak. But having a disability makes you stronger. We fight stigmas & navigate the world differently. Disabilities make us strong as hell.

My old office where I interned during the ACA passage working for Rep Ben Chandler.

We forget that Congress’s most important work is constituent work: it’s not sexy, is a lot of paperwork, but has so much impact. I’m committed to providing exceptional support to all of my constituents if elected.

📣 Kentucky voters! 📣

Note these important dates for the upcoming primaries!

Kentucky is a closed primary state which means if you want to vote for me, you need to be a registered Democrat before the end of the year.

Check and change your registration at vrsws.sos.ky.gov/ovrweb/

Look what I found! It’s the Senate Democratic Leadership’s spine!

I guess they got experimental surgery to get their backbones removed.

Periods are political.

But they shouldn’t be.

A key part of not just my campaign but a driving force in my life is promoting organizations getting out in the community and doing the real work.

What it’s like to be a progressive political candidate in Kentucky.

TL;DR: people are READY for a progressive voice. They are tired of voting for candidates who don’t stand for anything. They are tired of voting for candidates who are just more of the same. But me? I’m different in every way.

I can’t stop thinking about the woman I met at The New Day Recovery Center in Winchester.

“I don’t have to go to jail for 20 years because of this place. I have a future.”

We hugged & cried. She’s also who I fight for bc everyone deserves a 2nd chance. Recovery matters, forgiveness does too.

Democratic leadership: do not cave! What has this all been for? Stand for something beyond getting reelected. Stand for the PEOPLE.

Landlords: I’m calling on you to cut slack for your fed tenants. Do not evict or levy late fees.

Voters: call your Senators and tell them to stand strong.

Get ready, UK! I’ll be on the University of Kentucky’s campus at the Gatton Student Center connecting with students about voting, issues, and how we can encourage younger folks to engage in politics. 💙

The SNAP crisis is worsening, and we must help our neighbors.

But when donating to food drives, be sure you are giving with care. Donate food that you would actually want to eat yourself, things that are nutritious, and not expired.

I want to be very clear about something: I am a progressive Democrat running to flip a red seat blue and I DO NOT have a Nazi tattoo.

But I do have this Ralph Steadman/Hunter S. Thompson one. Because bats are cool and very important to our ecosystems and I love HST and the ethos of Gonzo.

UPS released the names of the crew lost in the tragic crash in Louisville this week.

I heard that 5 others are pending identification at the Louisville Coroner’s office.

Please send love & care to their families. I hope that this leads to an overhaul in maintenance for the entire air fleet.
November 6, 2025 at 9:55 PM
Update on the UPS crash: cause is identified as the left engine detached from the aircraft.

12 reported dead, 3 are crew and others still being identified.

Gov. Beshear declared state of emergency.

SDF Airport is operating as usual but some delays can occur esp with shutdown. UPS resumed ops.

If anyone thought politics was sexy, I spent part of my day on the shoulder of a road next to a field in Fleming County getting @tacobell.bsky.social out of my white shirt between meetings.

But meeting with the folks on either side of that trip made it all worth while.

Shame on Tom Brady for cloning his pit mix. Some estimates say 1 million pits are euthanized EVERY YEAR in the U.S. - that’s 2,800 PER DAY. So instead of rescuing a dog in need, he spent tens of thousands (or more) on cloning his dog. This is so horribly unethical.

Major UPS plane crash and explosion at Louisville Muhammad Ali airport.

All those within a 5 mile radius are asked to shelter in place. Please heed all precautions for your safety.

My heart goes out to everyone impacted. Injuries are reported. Please stay safe. Situation is developing.

Join me tonight at 6pm for an AMA on r/lexington.

Looking forward to it! Nothing but I love more than tough questions from voters.
