The sandwich guy is acquitted, but he also lost his job and incurred thousands in legal fees. This case was a travesty of justice pursued by a washed up jurist turned TV pundit.

The river was so still I could see a reflection of the moon in the water, but then a large boat went by and the reflection rippled out towards me in the boat’s wake. A beautiful evening.

I was preparing a lesson for my confirmation students while sitting at a table outside in my yard. It was a beautiful day, cool and breezy but the sun was bright and warm on my back. I enjoyed being in that peaceful moment. I think I’ll ignore the drama today. It will be a fresh hell tomorrow.

I always get drawn back to Al Gore telling voters that he’d only raise taxes on the top 1% and then after the election a poll showed that something like 20% of voters thought they were in the top 1% and another 20% thought they would be in the next five years. Just a total tragic disconnect.
Maaaaan, this. So much this. Every time there's any kind of actual in-depth survey we find that the American people are *abysmally* ignorant about even the most basic political facts, but the pundit class just immediately forgets & proceeds with political analysis based on subtle policy differences.
