I live on a cattle ranch in the South. I love reading, gardening, and reading about gardening. But I could be here for the politics.
The river was so still I could see a reflection of the moon in the water, but then a large boat went by and the reflection rippled out towards me in the boat’s wake. A beautiful evening.

And here West Alabama ours aren’t really showing any color yet. I’ve lost more leaves since August to drought than to seasonal change. I took this photo this morning

That sounds heavenly, and I’m envious. In my subtropical rainforest, opening the windows lets humid warm air, mosquitoes and pollen into the house. But the dawn song is the same.

Garden sky, has anyone ever seen this? Leaves on a branch of my Japanese maple are turning red, in May, and the rest of the tree is green. This has never happened before. #gardenSky #garden

I can’t comment on what you see in Georgia. Our cows are knee deep in rye grass, fat and happy. I was pointing out that most cattle in the US are grown on small farms, and especially out west, on land that is not suitable for crops. It’s hard, high risk work but a rewarding life.
