I don't know what the Senate is going to do. But if they do in fact fold in exchange for nothing, they will be living up to past performance. To expect the Senate to carry out the will of the American people is to misunderstand why it was created in the first place.

Mamdani will restore the tradition of reading one-third of the law each year at the convening of the City Thing. 39 new goðorð are also set to be created, using a method that allows for sale or trade similar to taxi medallions.
Mamdani will implement sumptuary law. Ladies will have to carefully measure how many ounces of gold are in their girdles, and wearing pearls on hats will be banned except for wives or courtesans of foreign mercenaries.
