Strange that the federal magistrate, Catherine Salinas, allowed herself to be so bamboozled by this Republican hokum.

Donald Trump and the Republicans are threatening to destroy representative democracy while killing civilians, taking massive bribes, destroying alliances, and exploding costs. That's why it's so critical that the Democrats find candidates who are inspiring enough to get me to vote.

Khanna: There were two rounds of redactions. There was the original FBI redactions… and they did a second round of redactions at the DOJ. What they’re showing members now is the unredacted version of the DOJ’s redactions—not the original FBI redactions. They’re in blatant violation of the law.

Just 2 days ago Noem castigated Margaret Brennan on air for citing similar statistics in a feeble attempt to fact-check Noem. Noem actually called Brennan a liar for attempting to point out that Noem was making false claims. And Brennan sat there, unprepared and witless, with no response to Noem.
The "Worst of the Worst" Lie. Fewer than 14% of the nearly 400k arrests made by ICE have violent records. Less than 2% are for homicide or sexual assault. Only 1.9% are alleged gangmembers. 40% had no criminal record at all.
Less than 14% of those arrested by ICE in Trump's 1st year back in office had violent criminal records, document shows
The official DHS statistics, which had not been previously reported, provide the most detailed look yet into who ICE has arrested during the Trump administration's crackdown.

The insiduousness of the Trump DOJ strategy is easy to miss.
It exploits the ban on nationwide injunctions that it controversially obtained from a pliant Supreme Court by limiting compliance with adverse lower court decisions (if even those) only to the named parties in those cases. 1/
"I'm suggesting to you, . . . in a case like this, the government has no incentive to bring this case to the Supreme Court because it's not really losing anything. It's losing a lot of individual cases, which still allow it to enforce is EO against the vast majority of people to whom it applies."

What is missing, among other concepts, is any discussion of why functions of ICE must continue to be handled in an obviously lawless way. What about ICE is supported by the citizenry and the law, and what is not? This is the fundamental task of the legislature. Not token piecemeal bandaids.
Our DHS reform demands are exceedingly reasonable.

We're asking ICE to do nothing more than follow the standards that the vast majority of law enforcement agencies already follow.

Republicans, the ball is in your court. The clock is ticking.

Worse than mere Karening. Disinformation designed to appeal to the uneducated. She falsely repeats the Noem lie that only "violent illegals" are targeted by ICE and in a way respecting legally required due process. That is clearly not occurring. Arrestees overwhelmingly have not been violent.

Fresh off celebrating and gasl8ghting about the killing of the Washington Post, the Trump mafia and servants at the FCC target The View. Mainstream broadcast shows that are not deemed "news" no longer have discretion as to who they host. Equal time for extremists and fascists is the new rule.

The states that have cravenly ceded their sovereignty over elections to Trump, led by Texas followed by Alabama and Alaska and LA and TN and Arkansas and other poor red sycophants, are the same blowhards gaslighting about how unfettered gun carrying is necessary to defend against federal over reach.
A confidential document reveals both the Trump administration’s plans to interfere with the states’ authority to run elections and how dangerously insecure the sensitive data will be in the department’s hands.
“Confidential” Agreements Show Trump Administration’s Plans for States’ Voter Data
