When a sitting representative refers to the Super Bowl halftime show as “pornography,” people should use that to reflect on how they and other representatives are simultaneously working to ban, censor, and restrict “pornography” and what that actually means

But like this is literally true. Elon Musk is literally responsible for the deaths of millions. Literally, literally. And we let him walk among us.
He murdered 300,000 people last year right here on earth and the toll may climb to 14 million.

Elon Musk's ambition to one day settle Mars appears to have taken a back seat for a rather nearer and more achievable goal – sending humans to live on the moon. https://cnn.it/46sbAMm

Bug Farms: Folks won't report bugs in your product if it's visibly a bug farm and you have a reputation for doing nothing about it.

That's true even if the bugs you've been punting for years are trivial, and their problem is a blocker that will cause them to abandon your product.

I really do think this is an excellent metaphor for the moment.
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.

people who say that all creative endeavor can be replaced with AI probably need to reckon with the fact that all televised sports events with human athletes could easily be replicated by high-definition computer-animated simulations….and yet we don’t do this and no one seems to want to.

Part of what's great about this is how Hunter Hess tried really hard to not go into specifics but Trump (1) deduced (correctly!) that any reference to things that aren't "good" or "moral" must mean him and (2) decided he needed to elevate it with some bonkers response. Great work, Mr. President. 🫡
The president is now attacking a US Olympian as a “Loser” and misrepresenting his words for his mild unspecified criticisms about things going on in the US right now.

Trump said for years he'd make his tax returns public if he weren't under audit. Now he wants $10 billion dollars in "compensation" for something he said was no big deal.

Both TX gubernatorial candidates (D and R) were forced to vote provisionally in 2014 after lacking ID deemed acceptable.
Games are being played with your right to vote. I know it's not possible for everyone, but I'm making sure I got all my paper work in order. Voter registration, certified copies of my birth certificate, Real ID, and U.S. passport.

And the start of early voting is marked on my calendar. No excuses.
