The Department of Justice is out of control. This is a direct threat to the press. Pam Bondi should be impeached. A judge had previously denied this.

Mikie Sherrill supports enshrining N.J.’s existing sanctuary policy into law as immigrant rights groups push for an expanded version
New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill's approach to the state's sanctuary policy, which limits cooperation with ICE, could clash with immigrant rights groups, who were just rejected by Phil Murphy.

🚨BREAKING: Minnesota state attorneys alleged in a court hearing that Donald Trump and the Department of Justice are attempting to force the state to surrender its sovereignty — in particular, its control over elections — through the massive federal immigration operation in the Twin Cities region.
Minnesota lawyers argue Trump’s ICE invasion is ‘extorting’ state for voter rolls demands
“It’s a shakedown letter,” one attorney said of Attorney General Bondi's list of demands to the state.

I do not just throw out praise for Senate Dem leadership, but this is good. It’s what we need now - Dems using their leverage where they’ve got it and refusing to budge. Make GOP own this lawless goon squad. No Dem votes for it. Support Dems who are fighting back now regardless of past beefs.
Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

In a letter to Gov. Tim Walz Saturday, Bondi claimed that Walz could “restore the rule of law” by complying with a list of demands, including giving the Department of Justice (DOJ) the state’s voter registration records.

🧵Clearly you value immigrants less than others. Your vote today on DHS funding was shameful. Funding FEMA, etc. is important. But the lives & well being of the people you represent, those who are in immediate danger, surely supersedes the funding of agencies. #ICEfunding 1/2
