Wife and widow, not just "partner."
“Renee was not the first person killed, and she was not the last,” Becca Good said. “You know my wife’s name and you know Alex’s name, but there are many others in this city being harmed that you don’t know — their families are hurting just like mine, even if they don’t look like mine.”
Renee Good's partner addresses Minneapolis immigration crackdown one month after killing
Becca Good has seldom spoken out since Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on Jan. 7.

I was reading the latest issue of Love & Rockets (issue #17) and was amazed to recognize a deep cut from L&R lore...a flashback story appearance from "Handsome," a character who had only appeared previously in Jaime Hernandez' story from the 1988 benefit anthology "Strip AIDS USA."

It wasn’t a mistake.

It wasn’t done by a staffer.

It’s not a funny meme.

There are no gorillas in The Lion King.

Trump is showing you who and what he is.

Believe him.

Don’t use ableist sanist language. He’s a racist bigot.

He’s always been a racist bigot.

Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but I remembered a movie to recommend for Catherine O'Hara in a dramatic role: The Life Before This. It's an ensemble piece, so I don't recall any "big" moments for her, but it was still nice to see her in a different mode.

I was too late to donate to Becca Good's GoFundMe before it was paused, so I'm grateful to have had another opportunity to help the family in whatever small way I can.

Here's one of her all-time classic sketches. I'm in a restaurant right now and can't watch it now to confirm, but I hope this is the one where she pronounces the band "The Be-attles"?

This is the best way I've seen so far of expressing her gift.
Catherine O’Hara didn’t steal scenes she just showed up and ownership automatically defaulted to her

Miscellaneous pop-culture weirdness: I own a few old editions of John Willis' "Theatre World" books, which kept records of all the Broadway & off-Broadway productions of each season. Here's the entry for "Score," a 1970 sex-comedy featuring Sylvester Stallone. (Stallone did not return for the film.)
