I hope people take two minutes to listen to this shocking display of bigotry. It brings clarity to what we are fighting against. We should all be sick to hear such un-American drivel from the President of the United States.
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

I think it's disgusting that the Times chose to try and rehabilitate these goons. What the article actually demonstrates is that the young Republicans are chock full of racists. The story chronicles the constant firing of staff because of their racist & white nationalist views.
William Hendrix wanted a life in politics. He found it, with the Young Republicans. Then, in October, texts were leaked from their group chat revealing racist, misogynistic and antisemitic language.

Even more than the fascism and white supremacy, the very core of MAGA is the endless drive to make us accomplices in Trump's own narcissism. Their primary ideological commitment is "Trump is great" and they will attack and punish us until we, too, admit Trump is great.
SCOOP: Sources tell me Donald Trump's name was added to the exterior of the US Institute of Peace building ahead of Thursday's peace agreement signing between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which will be held inside the building. Confirming if it's been officially renamed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Did you know: in J.R.R. #Tolkien's Númenor, the people conducted annually Three Prayers - ceremonies in praise of Eru. The last of these was "Eruhantalë" - or "Thanksgiving to Eru" - and took place at the end of Autumn.

Important developments. The Montana Supreme Court has played a really important role in heading off far-right conservatism in the state, so of course the Republican Party is weaponizing the ethics process to attack them.
Pretty alarming that Republican lawmakers in Montana are no longer even pretending to respect the state supreme court as part of a co-equal branch of government

Why do Democrats still support subsidies for rich farmers who hate them? It’s dumb policy and dumb politics. Stop obsessing about America’s 2 million farmers. Start thinking about America’s 350 million eaters.

They’re wearing masks so they can’t be prosecuted later. As long as they think they can’t be prosecuted, their crimes will intensify. They will torture, starve and kill, as they have already, on greater and greater scale.

Signed, someone who’s covered the unaccountable War on Terror for 23 years.
I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

It is a practice in conflict with the principles of transparency & accountability that are central to the concept of democracy.

Imagine you were cutting off food assistance because the government shut down and you were told that there's a way to fund the food assistance programs run by the U.S. government during the shut down and that it would be totally legal to do so, and your response is to appeal that decision.
NEW: A federal judge ordered the Trump admin to fund food stamps in full this month. Pretty quickly, DOJ said it would appeal.

Now, millions of poor families are in limbo, and it is not entirely clear if/when they're going to see *any* SNAP payments in Nov.

These big wins will embolden Dems to take on Trump's lawbreaking and show there's a price for GOP enabling of him. Folks hate to hear this, but normal patterns are asserting themselves: Liberalism isn't dead, Rs are likely to lose in 2026, and Trump is really unpopular, not a magical exception.

I truly do not care if Joe Walsh "became" a Democrat.

He's anti-Trump and that's great, but, what he wants to do is make the Democratic Party into what he wanted the Republican Party to be.

Sorry, man, you failed once, you don't get to do it to the Dems now, too.
