I read posts by people that interest me and sometimes I scream into the void by posting my own thoughts. But I'm not necessarily looking for interaction. I'm mostly reading what others say and following their links to interesting things.

What do you mean by engagement? Replies and likes? I'm genuinely curious about the desire to have engagement on social media. Replies on social media often feel tactless and antagonistic. Many of the more popular accounts I follow are pretty hostile to the rando comments on their posts.
