Maybe I'm being too optimistic. But Abughazaleh is clearly onto something here. Even if she doesn't win her election she still wins because she actually took advantage of her position to fill in social and economic gaps. She did SOMETHING other than take. Politicians should be stewards, not leaders.

Been thinking a lot about this since I last posted. What if more folks ran for office and used this exact model to open mutual aid opportunities within the constraints of campaign finance laws? Wouldn't be about winning, but rather raising the bar so people know they should ask more of candidates.
In addition to offering supplies while the office is open, the campaign also helps stock a community fridge available any time of day and hosts drives to collect specific supplies.

AI is deeply flawed and more to the point in NO WAY PREDESTINED. So many of these letters present it like, “welp, we let it out of the cage, now we just have to love the monster as it eats us.” We don’t. We can hunt the beast and kick it back into its crate and then sink it beneath the waves.
