BYU offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick hasn't been definitive on much. But he is sure of one thing: Carsen Ryan is going to get a lot of run at TE this fall.

"He's an every-down player ... He can play every down, run or pass, and do a lot of things for us."

I am so lucky I get join the Utah Teacher Fellows in a 2 year cohort!

As part of this cohort, I’ll be able to raise and amplify my voice for public education!

I don’t know how much I’ll use this account but I’d love to see #EduSky🍎 and #iteachsocialstudies 🗺️ grow in Utah. We’ll see.

Two cars in 6 lanes for almost 2 or 3 miles! Count ‘em: Two! And there are at least 20 of us on just my top floor of FrontRunner! Imagine what it could be with double tracking? Or extended service?!? We don’t need more lanes we need better transit!

Great article. I hope my faith can live up to its moderate portrayal here. I think many of us feel like the church’s call to be peacemakers should be more faithfully lived. But Lee is a black eye to the church & Utah, and our own supermajority is right behind him. 🙄

Mike Lee Can’t Stop Throwing Social Media Grenades. His Church Isn’t Happy.
The Utah senator’s online persona has further damaged his already frayed relationship with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

I’m not going to make it out much tomorrow but today I have errands and time in public so I thought it was time for this Social Studies shirt to come out.

It was the last day of school today. I think I was home shortly after my students. I ate lunch with my family, and I am now puttering around the garage ready to fix and maintain a bike or two. Life is so good! Happy summer!! #TeacherLife

I feel validated for showing up. The impression I get after this meeting, and these results, is that there are two distinct parties in the Utah GOP and while us crazy moderates don’t love Axson in my opinion sanity took the day. #UTpol
Utah GOP Chair results:

Rob Axson (incumbent) - 1340
Phil Lyman - 1215

Party secretary:

Stafford Palmieri Sievert (incumbent) - 1430
Olivia Williams - 1127

This one was a huge head scratcher for me. It feels so slimy and all about power now and the GOP isn’t even trying to hide it anymore.
May 17, 2025 at 9:01 PM
I sat in that room and listened to Phil Lyman talk about Jesus, 1776, and the Salem witch trials (unclear if he supported them or not). He made no points, no two ideas connected in the least. Like, if he wasn’t making a bid for power I’d be concerned for his welfare. #UTpol

The Utah GOP party platform can now be changed at this organizing convention. Where there’s a whopping 2,630 of us here. 🤔 #UTpol

Here at the GOP organizing convention and the proposed party amendment to kick signature gathering candidates out of the party was pulled by the sponsor. He vaguely talked about “better options coming and new things that have come to light” I’m almost more scared with his vague language. #UTpol

I was shown this quote in a conference on grading practices yesterday. But it made me think more about this Saturday and my adventure giving up a whole day to walk into the heart of crazy. The GOP state organizing convention. Wish me luck and stay tuned for skeets from insanity. #utpol

I just spent 15 mins roughhousing with my two youngest boys. They pounced on my belly over and over and amid giggles and growls I had the energy to play. Recovery is slow, and I want it to look like swinging 50lb cannonballs again. But, this was wonderful.

My first reaction to the great news that vouchers are ruled unconstitutional: Hallelujah! My 2nd reaction: crap, the vindictive Utah legislature is going to try to crush public Ed and the courts next session 🤦🏼‍♂️. Also, If you wondered why they wanted to do in the UEA this last session…here it is. 🍎
UPDATE: The Utah Education Association is obviously thrilled with the ruling.

"All governmental power requires oversight and accountability to the public, and the UEA is here to ensure it," the union said:

A judge has struck down the controversial "Utah Fits All" scholarship that critics say is a voucher program siphoning money from the public education system.

Went to a play this evening and saw two former students who stopped me. They’re finishing their first year of college, sweethearts who are still together even after I had them in 9th grade. Such bright wonderful people it made my soul happy to see them again. Sometimes this teaching gig is alright!😁

It’s the silly traditions that mean the most. I got this bag of pine nuts for October conference but didn’t get to roasting it. Now it feels like #LDSconf for reals. Miss you grandpa.

This is my family’s experience as well. My wife relies much more on the connection of well built bike infrastructure due in large part because she’s biking with our children. There is so much more demand for connected bike infrastructure than people in power can see! If you build it they will come!
Why do men bike more than women in many countries?

A new study from Spain shows that the construction of a connected network of high-quality protected bike lanes helps to close this gender gap.

When we fail to build protected bike lanes, we keep women from riding bikes.

Always remember how your state representative voted for on bills that matter to you.

BTW, you know it's a bad bill when the sponsor has to clarify they love public workers & that they wouldn't be sponsoring this bill unless they believe it was the best decision.
