Yet these were the actual two candidates I had to choose from. I’ll be honest part of me wanted to see Lyman win and drive the party off the cliff. But maybe now I’ll get to key playing the game and effecting change where I can 🤷🏼♂️

I was shown this quote in a conference on grading practices yesterday. But it made me think more about this Saturday and my adventure giving up a whole day to walk into the heart of crazy. The GOP state organizing convention. Wish me luck and stay tuned for skeets from insanity. #utpol

It’s the silly traditions that mean the most. I got this bag of pine nuts for October conference but didn’t get to roasting it. Now it feels like #LDSconf for reals. Miss you grandpa.

Now I’ve lost 15 lbs again and apparently it was all muscle, cause I used a milk jug full of water and I’m so sore I’m not going to be able to go again for a week 🤦🏼♂️. Recovery is slow. Stupid slow. But I’ll get back! 7-end

I know it sounds strange and looks entirely unappetizing, but I love the few days I make carrot pudding! A recipe that came over with my welsh family using the last treasures from a root cellar to make a holiday treat. 😋

Tonight’s excitement: Lighting the Christmas tree. This was always my dad’s job growing up and I miss him every time I do it. 🥹

We put up the Christmas village today and I noticed that there are no cars in the village. Our most nostalgic, memorable and magic moments don’t include cars. But the village is full of human interaction and #OutOfCarExperiences my village does happily feature a cargo bike though 😁

Sometimes I look in the mirror at my very stereotypical “dad bod” and get discouraged. But today I feel strong! Over Friday and Saturday I biked 117 miles of a 430 mile relay from SLC to Saint George UT!

My new work hands. I am both excited and apprehensive about teaching the cycling class this year. Hobbies and passions might make for great teaching or torture. The jury is still out. But let’s make it fun 2 more flat tires fixed and my “classroom” is ready. 🍎

Yesterday was my first day back to work full time for this school year. I love my work life balance, I love my summers and time with my wife and my boys. But there is something to be said about the return to routine during the school year! Got back on the #HistGym wagon.

My feeling every time I speak to government candidates as a teacher….and usually their answer is yes. 🙄 Makes it hard to support them when I legit feel like I start as their enemy.

I’ve been more sporadic than I’d like working out. But today my wonderful wife was the catalyst to send me downstairs and make sure I got the #HistGym time in. Man I feel better when I lift. 🙂

Today’s #HistGym was at the awesome free gym my district provides. They took an old warehouse that they weren’t using by the District Office and put in old equipment from the Jr. High’s that went to middle school. They’ve kept updating the equipment too.

People are often confused when I explain we live in the suburbs comfortably with only one car and 3 kids. But this is how it works! Today we needed the van to be a different tool so my wife biked the kids to grandmas and I emptied the van. ~1mile @33 degrees #LessCarMoreGo

Coming right up! SF built essentially a small belt route around town and they’re calling it the Spanish Fork parkway. My dream is to put a bus on it (I’m calling it the Spanish Fork parkway shuttle for reasons*)
