🚨 BREAKING: The government has tabled their plan to restrict repeat protests.
Demonstrations could now banned based on the 'cumulative disruption' that previous protests have caused in the area - regardless of if they have been organised by the same people or not.
This is worse than we feared.

Can see why Labour waited for Lords stages before adding THIS to the Crime and Policing Bill.
Extending protest suppression to include vague ‘cumulative’ impacts (that could include OTHER protests!) will clearly be misused by police.
Lords must oppose this attack on our rights.

Nuclear “tests” are best conceptualized as environmental disasters with consequences that are still felt today, particularly in Oceania and Central Asia.

There is a NIMBY steak in the Greens but there is in every party. When we have vast areas of carparks, warehouse roofs, etc in the UK, cover those with solar before using up farmland/natural habitats as food security is also an essential (agrivoltaics would solve that but it's always so binary).
Yes, Labour don't get being green.
Nothing green about solar pv panels if inappropriately located. Nothing green about expensive nuclear power that leaves toxic and radioactive nuclear wastes for future generations.

He ditched the Green New Deal the moment he took power; invented 'grey belt' to build over green; slashed regs & fast-tracked Heathrow's 3rd runway: Keir Starmer is rattled, caught in a pincer movement between Left & Right with no one to blame but 'centrism' itself. He's coming for Zack. Personally.

A beautiful thing is that we paid taxes and vested power in a system to manage some of that money so that fewer children, families, and elders would go hungry.
That that beautiful thing is being disrupted by the whims of power doesn't make it less beautiful.
