How willing is a Dem to abandon minorities for the lightest whisper of a lead is a good test for who is worth our time and a lot of faves have already failed.
This is rapidly becoming a single issue litmus test for me. Politicians who parrot Ivy League-brained Substack consultants on this one deserve to lose, and if they don’t manage to lose their primaries they’ll lose to Republicans

Since Haitian-Cuban entrants are anyone who was given a status under immigration laws for Haitians or Cubans and TPS was a statute that was extended to Haitians, any Haitian who was approved for TPS should qualify as a Haitian-Cuban entrant for social security purposes.

I am often deeply distressed at how often my party is willing to excuse rank incompetence, jelly kneed cowardice and gleeful collaboration so long as the person in question asks some mean questions or has witty soundbites in a hearing.

Since August, he has been asking them to deport him to Costa Rica, yet the Trump admin keeps refusing to do it (and lying about why) because they want to send him to Africa to punish him. On the one hand LPR status is a path to citizenship, but on the other, I might be out of practice on these but don't EB-1 and E-B2 visas have statutory requirements?
Despite the nebulous and misleading claim that it is a “direct path to citizenship,” the website explains it only confers residency.

Don't let the craziness with the Supreme Court distract from the big immigration story; people from 19 different countries, including Haiti, Venezuela, and Cuba, are currently trapped in an immigration limbo, with their citizenship and green card applications (among others) put indefinitely on hold.

Hmm middle class person with a disability that got and required accomodations in school, ask me anything I guess.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.
