So, it turns out that the much haunted UK-US trade deal is a bust.

The US is demanding the UK cut the digital services tax, as well as online protections and food standards.

The UK public opposes these demands.

Another reminder that our future is with Europe!

The fact Trump has made US an adversary of Europe makes it more urgent to start reversing Brexit - especially for UK but also for EU. But can only happen if UK recognises the truth of where it stands and that the reset, customs union, etc. = marginal improvements but no more.

The NBER report last month on just the economic impact of Brexit puts it beyond doubt that the UK govt should be doing all it can to remove this "Farage tax". They've all but admitted it would be in the UK's best interests to do so. So why aren't they?

The EU isn’t the solution to all the UK’s ills, most of which are self inflicted; but Brexit was never the answer either. Instead , it made everything worse, and weakened us domestically and internationally. Stop pretending we can make Brexit work.

Rachel Reeves says there’s a “hole” in the public finances. A new decade-long Brexit study explains it: a 6–8% hit to GDP – that's £180bn-£240bn a year – means less tax, less investment and less money for everything else.

Brexit made Britain poorer. Much poorer.
