The UK played a pivotal role in creating the ECHR. Leaving it now would betray that legacy, and destroy the very principles we helped to create.

Rejoining the EU won’t happen overnight, but we can start by rebuilding cooperation with the EU. This should include realigning the UK as an associate member of European agencies, rejoining key European programmes such as Erasmus+, and seeking deeper agreements with the EU across the board.

Mamdani, Greens and others shouldn't really be seen as radical. Rather, they should be seen as a return to the tradition of Roosevelt and Attlee. A return to the common sense social policies that were sidelined by 40 years of a trickle-down experiment that led nowhere.

Two ideas defined the 1930s. Fascism on the right and Roosevelt's New Deal on the left. The only one to survive was Roosevelt's – until "trickle-downers" started dismantling it in the 1980s. Roosevelt's New Deal is worth cheching out, as it seems to be what folk are looking for again.

That the UK - one of the architects of this fund, designed to save the world’s forests - is now refusing to put any money into it is frankly shameful. Starmer’s claim that he still continues to back the fund is meaningless without resources - so much for climate leadership

We know people die at our border & in our asylum system at a horrifying rate, but shockingly the govt does not record how many, who, or how.

New EU border rules mean fingerprint scans, photo registration and longer queues.

This is the real-world cost of Brexit - more hassle, more red tape, more delays.
