Finally finished putting some words down about why I love Death Stranding so much and why it's become a comfort game for me.

Anyone here have opinions, based on experiences, of studying through the Open University for courses in things like computing or cyber security?

Just looking into further, guided study options.

At a certain level of British society there is only one crime it's possible to commit: Failure to Sufficiently Launder and Glorify the Ruling Class
Once every 20 years or so, the director-general of the BBC is forced to resign for being insufficiently rightwing. Alastair Milne in 1987. Greg Dyke in 2004. Tim Davie in 2025. The great irony is that the BBC was in all cases profoundly biased towards established power. But just not biased enough …

Aaaaaand there it is. Exactly like I expected. It’s only going to get less and less possible to discuss vast numbers of games on YouTube.

Can’t wait for the GTA6 reviews full of law-abiding footage.

I wonder if this will extend to official trailers or if publishers will get special treatment.

Remember that concern you brought up in your last jimquisition about violent mature rated video games on YouTube?

I decided to be really cheesy on my blog today and did a super basic cyber security tips post, with added pumpkin imagery. You know, because it's Halloween and the last day of Cyber Security Awareness Month.

CBeebies started off October Half Term with the LONG Bluey episode from season 3.

So, I estimate that there are a lot of 0 Days since an episode of Bluey made someone cry, in the UK right now.

Finally finished reading "How to Raise a Viking" by Helen Russell.

Given it 5/5 on StoryGraph. My review there:

"There is a lot in this book that parents and governments in the UK and the US could learn from and should, if they don't want to keep failing children and teenagers."

So, there I was, putting some clothes washing on before heading to bed last night and as I picked up the detergent, I was treated to the sight of a giant house spider hiding behind it.

I'm surprised my scream didn't wake up the whole street.

RIP to Drew Struzan, the artist behind the iconic posters for so many classic Hollywood movies of the 70s and 80s

I can't pick a favorite, so I'll go with his unforgettable one sheet for 'John Carpenter's The Thing', a perfect poster for a perfect film, one I didn't know it was his until today 📽️

The highlighted paragraphs in my pic made me laugh. Considering how shit Google search is these days, coupled with its market dominance, it's probably been impeding UK innovation and productivity for the last three years.

I don't know why I check LinkedIn these days.

Disgusting levels of vapid disconnection from reality are the main underpinnings of most posts I see on there.

It's a dangerous way to play, but I wanted to try.

Any good, fairly priced, online conferences around cybersecurity or secure app engineering coming up?

Don't have the means to travel at the moment + too many responsibilities at home to make travelling outside of SW England, for more than a day, a bit of an issue.
