If you haven't been watching The Great North, I highly recommend binging the entire series. The series finale was beautiful and so much needed optimism. The perfect ending to a really fun show full of heart.

So I try not to give too many gory details about life with long covid, but I also think it’s important to give a clear picture of what can happen to anyone.

Over the last yearish, I’ve become allergic to more than 70 foods. Today I lost soy. I’m not how long I can keep eating at all.

Our new healthcare payment won't be as much as we feared, but at my current pay rate, the increase alone is still going to be 3% of my earnings for the entire year. Others have it much worse. Nice dystopia we have here.

Hey #Dodgers fans, did you have an interaction with the LAPD in Echo Park the night of the World Series victory? The Echo Park Neighborhood Council is compiling stories about what happened so we can address the issue. You can stay anonymous. DM me.

What's our next move? Where do we put all this anger?

And if you tell me "This is a good thing, actually" I will put my anger on you.

I'm at a sports bar reading Rat Queens & paying zero attention to sports, & for some reason Trump is on the screen talking about football. I looked up to see a bunch of deeply unhappy people forced to stand as I guess he recited the Pledge of Alliegance? Anyway, everyone in this bar is baffled.

"without subjecting anyone to differential treatment."

This is flatly false! Trans people with a passport that does not match with their plain appearance when presented to a border agent is subject to additional hassle compared to a cis person presenting a passport.
NEW: On the shadow docket, the Supreme Court lets Trump resume misgendering trans Americans on their passports, claiming "the government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment." All three liberals dissent. www.documentcloud.org/documents/26...

I've been researching a book about set safety, & this week I had to add yet another name to my list of crew who died on set.

If any crew members have witnessed a death on set & are willing to talk about how it happened & how we stop it from happening again, please reach out. Can be anonymous.

#Gerrymandered and fired up? Fight back—run for office, even when the map is rigged. Can’t Win Victory Fund helps “can’tidates” in impossible districts make noise, grow the vote for up-ballot races and push for fair maps—and yes, we make it fun.

Hey if you live in Los Angeles and this inspires you to get involved in politics, might I recommend running for your neighborhood council. It's a great place to start your political journey. Here in Echo Park, we have a few seats open. HMU if you think that sounds cool.

Something about the Dodgers victory starting a blue wave, but like a baseball stadium wave but also a political wave. Who's really good with puns? Do something with that.

Cops were blocking our path home. I told one cop I just needed to turn down the street he was blocking so I could get to my apartment.

"You can't always get what you want" - then forced me to turn around and head back into the very area they were preparing to disperse w nonlethals.

So many people out on Sunset blasting "Not Like Us".

The joy on the street is incredible. Strangers are high fiving each other. Drunk ladies are dancing in the intersections. Fireworks are smoking up the air.

Echo Park is wild right now. If you're at Sunset/Echo Park, I'd suggest leaving. Cops are in full tactical gear.
