I'm so glad that the RI Senate has passed the important legislation to ban (eventually) dangerous poisons that are harming birds and pets but not doing a great job controlling rats (or else there wouldn't be so many!) Baton taken, let's pass this RI House! www.providencejournal.com/story/news/p...

My favorite sounds are hearing the basketball being played, kids on their bikes and on the lawns chatting. The sounds of summer are coming out and we are counting down the days until school is out.

🚨 The Trump Administration is greenlighting the sale of deadly devices that turn everyday guns into machine guns—despite the clear, proven danger. This reckless move paves the way for more carnage and mass shootings. Machine guns don’t belong in our communities. Not now, not ever.
The Trump Admin. just made machine guns legal again by permitting the sale of devices that turn AR-15s into fully automatic weapons. Forced-reset triggers increase a weapon’s rate of fire to mimic fully automatic guns—allowing a shooter to fire an entire magazine’s worth of ammunition in seconds.

What we know is we have a severe litter problem and one of the easiest ways to eliminate that is with a bottle bill. A public poll shows RI’ers want this and understand we need to do something to protect our environment.
Last night we discussed proposed bottle deposit & extended-producer responsibility that would require producers of packaging to help pay for cleanup.
