the fundamental disconnect between the manosphere and reality is that they are incapable of understanding that this is - according to every woman I’ve ever met - the sexiest thing a man has ever done
eight years ago today we all watched the glory of zendaya falling madly in love with tom holland and the internet was never the same

Ice rink was playing Madonna, Britney and Christina during my lesson tonight. I don't know who was picking the music but they were a certain age and I love them.

Fun time watching the eclipse with eclipse glasses. Then took them to the recreation ground where all the kids had a go. All initially too cool, then incredibly excited

Ancient textile fragment depicting hummingbirds excavated in Nazca, Peru. Embroidered using dyed animal fibre from llamas, alpacas or vicunas, which absorb dye more easily than cotton, producing more vivid colours, this small object, still with its vibrant colours, dates back to 400BC-AD500.

Successful lunchtime patio skate in these beauties. However, I can only stop by smashing into the garage on one side and fence on the other. This may not be the best approach.

The unbridled joy of dogs catching treats
German photographer Christian Vieler has been snapping these amusing shots since 2013, when he bought a portable flash that allowed him to work with shutter speeds as fast as 1/8000th of a second.

My next project (fly screen) involves a staple gun. I’ve always wanted one but never had an actual need so held off. Yay! Stupid tool shopping time!

@merylf.bsky.social interesting one for you
Hey #Shakespeare friends! I'm on a quest and request your help 😃

Shakespeare invented the emoji in A Winter's Tale.

The :) is in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th folios. But it disappears in Rowe's 1709 edition.

So, can anyone find a pre-1709 version of The Winter's Tale which omits Sir Smile's smile?

Peter Hujar's Day isn't exactly 75 minutes of Ben Whishaw talking about ordering Chinese food, but I have found that description useful in separating people who are going to love it from those who won't (I'm in the first group) #Sundance

I strongly recommend getting to the Medieval Women exhibition at the British Library if you can. There's lots of incredible women, but most interestingly for me lots of nuns using religion to live their own lives.

Want a monkey? Become a nun! Want to wear a pretty dress? Become a nun!

The Horniman Natural History Gallery features this stunning walrus.

It was transported to England, purchased in 1886. There, the taxidermists, having never seen one in the wild, stuffed it until the wrinkles smoothed out.

This is a fully inflated walrus, my friends.
