Friends in or familiar with London and Paris: any tips on affordable accommodations? I've checked out a few hostels in London, but they seem to be booked already for the week I'll be there. I've never been to France before so I'm not sure how easy it is to get around.

The Bruce Peel special collections library at UAlberta recently acquired a Bible in moon, and I'm so excited—you might even say that I'm over the moon about it.

It's a 1960s reproduction of a mid-1800s volume (moon was invented in the 1840s). Unfortunately. It's only volume 1 (of 3).

It's been six weeks and I still expect to see him when I turn around. I miss his sweet face so much. Some days are harder than others, and today is really hitting me.

It doesn't help that FB thinks I need ads from four different pet insurance companies. 🙃 (Yes I tried muting. It didn't work.)
[TW pet death]

We said our final goodbyes to our sweet, loving Moscato this morning. I am heartbroken, but he was surrounded by love in his final moments. Please give your pets extra love and hugs today.

Deaf and Deaf-adjacent folks, I need some help.

I have a student who needs to hire a writing coach that specialises in helping folks who are primarily ASL speakers write in English. Where do I look to find one who is able to assist with dissertation-level academic writing? Does anyone know someone?

I'm very grateful that my postdoc fellowship comes with money for research travel. However... booking said travel is testing the limits of my patience. 😅

No, I do not want a layover when direct flights are available. I especially don't want a layover when the direct flight is only an hour??

[TW pet death]

It's snowing. The first snowfall of the season.

My only wish when we found out that Moscato was sick was that he'd make it to the first snowfall. He loved snow so much.

He missed it by only two weeks.

I miss him. I'm not okay.
