The German saying goes "wer schön sein will muss leiden". My German is not so good, so I understood "wer schön sein will muss *nach* Leiden". Off to spend a couple months @unileiden.bsky.social, to start new projects on #QuantumMachineLearning

Just an observation: my experience flying low-cost in Europe has been approximately constant for 10 years. A similar statement is true about trains and buses. The same is *not* true about cars.

You think we already have enough entropies and divergence measures? I don't think so!

In our latest work (arxiv.org/abs/2509.20472), we introduce yet another information theoretic measure -- the computational relative entropy.

Let's have a quick rundown👇

Anyways... why haven't quantum computers factored 21 yet?

For all the interest in combating climate change you see around Germany, I wonder how many tonnes of CO2 can be traced back to the poor service offered by @bahn.de @bahn.bsky.social. How many people choose to fly or drive a car just to avoid ICE delays and short-notice cancellations.

True or false? The instant the train crew changed from SBB 🇨🇭 to DB 🇩🇪 a 20' delay materialized out of thin air.

Listen, Broligarchy is not some cute synonym for oligarchy. It's genuinely different & WAY more dangerous.

I'm a sociologist who's been studying the ultra-rich globally for 17 yrs, entering their world as an offshore wealth mgr. Published 2 books abt them.

🧵Broligarchs are distinct in 3 ways:
There’s a sort of Trump apologist, a relatively small but loud subset, who probably don’t realize or intend to be, but are so attached to a previous hyperbolic claim that they deny anything important changed.

-US was already an oligarchy
-US was already fascist
-Biden gave Israel a blank check

We recently released a software package to optimize IQP circuits that scales to millions of qubits and gates. Our main motivation was quantum machine learning (paper on the way!), but we believe there could be many other applications.

For a typical opera or orchestra concert that gets performed more than once, which is larger:
A) the time spent clapping times the size of the audience.
B) the time spent rehearsing times the size of the company / orchestra.
What if we add "rehearsing and performing" to option 2? #showerthoughts

Is there a particular reason why authors of published #ML papers don't update the doi on arxiv? I usually find a comment "paper published in XYZ", but right underneath it rads "cite as: arXiv:XYZ". This is not true for papers in quant-ph, for example.
