Dimitri Soudas, former Harper comms guy, told RadCan this morning that he's hearing Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux will cross the floor to the Liberals today.

If this happens, the Liberals are one seat short of a majority. You know what that means.

That's right.

Elizabeth May is Kingmaker.

🚨Scoop: Nova Scotia MP Chris d'Entremont says he is considering crossing the floor to join the Liberal Party.

He tells me he'll make a decision “in the next few days” after reviewing the federal budget. Other Conservatives are also being courted.

if I hear anyone who talks about polymarket odds as if they mean anything at all, I ignore everything else they have to say.

Totally lost my mind during the last federal election up here.

Contested election appeals are appealed directly to the Supreme Court of Canada (Per Saltum) under section 532 of the Canada Elections Act within 8 days of a decision.

This is a rare bypassing of a normal appellate court and the SCC must hear it without delay #cdnlaw #cdnpoli

Trump is such a hypocrite.

On the one hand, he complains about Canada. On the other hand, he gives the White House the Canadian treatment.

Pick a lane, buddy.

you'd be surprised how much stuff like this happens.
It seems that the biggest error was Roger Kotch's vote going down 708 votes and Thu Parmar going up 613 votes from the initial count. It seems likely that Parmar's votes were accidentally counted/entered for Kotch.

A squeaker in Calgary’s mayoral election! Unofficial results from very early this morning show Jeromy Farkas winning, placing first by only 585 votes ahead of Sonya Sharp.
It's unofficially official. @jeromyyyc.bsky.social will be the next Mayor of Calgary.

A vote difference of 585 between himself and Sonya Sharp.

There will almost certainly be a recount just to make sure.

It’s municipal election day in Alberta!

And the polls is Calgary are … still not open. And won’t open for more than an hour still. They open at 10 a.m. this year.

Polls close at 8 pm. But counting of many of the advance ballots won’t even begin until tomorrow.

The theme of this year’s election is
a man in a vest and tie is holding a cup of coffee and saying `` no rush '' .

I dunno, I think 2024 was the election where the urban/rural split finally established itself in anglo NB. Franco NB voted Liberal because of Higgs' language stances, we'll see if a more amenable PC leader can change that.
New Brunswick doesn't (yet) have this urban/rural split. We still have longtime rural Liberal seats. Susan Holt won her election by picking up swing ridings in Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton that were no guarantees for her party.

the only provincial Liberal premier left now is Susan Holt.

they call a a majority at 11:02. Not enough votes left in the last riding to be called (Fogo Island-Cape Freels) to make the difference.
CBC finally makes the call at 10:35 NT. PC largest party, not making a call on majority or minority yet.
