Robert Mitchell, the leader of the PEI Liberals has announced that he will run in the Georgetown-Pownal by-election.

He was elected as leader of the party in October, and previously served as an MLA from 2007-2020.

Brendan Curran has won tonight's PEI PC nomination in Georgetown-Pownal.

The by-election was set today for December 8.

The turnout in Nunavut has gone down every single territorial election since it was created in 1999.

1999: 86.6%
2004: 76%
2008: 67%
2013: 65%
2017: 57%
2021: 48%
2025: 37%

NEW: Elections Calgary has denied a recount request in Ward 9.

Unofficial results show there is a margin of 267 votes between winner Harrison Clark and runner up Gar Gar.

Gar requested the preliminary recount today.

NEW: Elections Calgary confirms they will be conducting a recount in Ward 12 at 9am on Thursday.

According to unofficial results, Mike Jamieson won the race with a margin of 29 votes over Sarah Ferguson.

Ferguson’s campaign requested the recount today.

NEW from Edmonton: After a recount for councillor in Ward sipiwiyiniwak, independent Thu Parmar has been elected by 627 votes.

Yesterday, Better Edmonton's Darrell Friesen had won the initial count by 6 votes.

New poll by Canada Pulse Insights for CityNews continues to show a lack of excitement among the mayoral candidates in both Calgary and Edmonton. "None of the above" is still doing very well with election day right around the corner.

One of the ridings where the Yukon Liberals failed to get a candidate is Klondike, an incumbent seat that was held by former Premier Sandy Silver.
