A lot of people are starting to realize the huge financial costs to clean up the mess the oil and gas industry has made. I've yet to see one of those estimates include the cost to address what they did with radioactive waste. That won't be cheap.
"Sure, Lee Oldham told me, he had spread radioactive fracking waste on Texas farmland. But in his defense, he never in a million years thought anyone would put a school there."

The oil industry's radioactive secret is getting more attention but the damage has been done.
Whistleblower Says Radioactive Fracking Waste Site Melted His Jaw. Now There’s an Elementary School There.
Then an elementary school was built on top of it.

“The climate scientists we surveyed were unambiguous: current economic models can’t capture what matters most – the cascading failures and compounding shocks that define climate risk in a warmer world – and could undermine the very foundations of economic growth.”

This should be THE story everyday.

One collision and the whale is dead.

Absolutely amazing: they've got so much solar in Australia that they need more people to use more of it, so the gov't has instructed energy retailers to offer *at least three hours of free power* during the middle of the day.

Meanwhile fossil-addled US struggles with an energy-price crisis ...
Energy retailers to be directed to offer free power three hours a day
Saying there is enough solar power for everyone in the daytime, Climate Change Minister Chris Bowen will direct retailers to provide three hours of free power every day to consumers.

Since 2019 it’s built 40% of global wind & solar, boosting their share in power generation by nearly 20% points.
