“When health is absent, wisdom cannot reveal itself, art cannot become manifest, strength cannot be exerted, wealth is useless, and reason is powerless.”

I feel like this is a good time to post Isaac Asimov:

“Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent.”

Our senior kitty Freya is so adorable. As soon as she wakes up from a nap, she has to immediately go and eat.

But because she’s a little elderly and still half asleep, her walk from the couch to her food bowl is that of a drunken sailor.

Rain and cold here today, plus I had to leave the house to go to a doctor’s appointment.

Edibles and reading non-political fiction for the rest of the day.

If only I was responsible enough to just be healthy! 🙄🤬

Those of us with chronic illness are already being punished:

-by our bodies

-by a society that doesn’t want to face the reality that anyone can become chronically ill

-by a for-profit healthcare system that doesn’t want to waste the time and money to help us.

We’re not irresponsible, we’re sick.
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

We need to institute recall elections for the Presidency.

I can’t imagine three more years of this shit and while would should definitely impeach Trump, the rest of the lineup is just as bad.

Seriously body, please chill the fuck out for a day or two.

It stopped raining, but now it’s cold, so the flare continues. Yay.

And yes, southern California cold isn’t real cold but my body doesn’t seem to understand the difference.

First of all, he’s only saying this because the DOJ will say they can’t release files pertaining to an active investigation.

Second, “a curse on the Democrats”? Politics is not supposed to be “my team” vs. “your team”. It’s supposed to be about helping people and making their lives better.
Trump: "House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide."

I’m feeling very sorry for myself today.

Everything hurts, my stomach is still acting up, the vertigo and brain fog are ridiculously bad right now, my nose is somehow simultaneously stuffed up and running constantly, and I’m insanely stressed about money.

Nobody chooses chronic illness over a job!
November 16, 2025 at 10:37 PM
Once again, a Democrat whines about how things should be instead of meeting the needs of the moment by dealing with what is actually happening.

The Trump administration has been committing political malpractice for 9 months. Do you really think they’re going to stop just because you want them to?
Tim Kaine: "It would be political malpractice of the highest order for the House to not take up a bipartisan bill coming out of the Senate."

This is NOT okay. This is NOT how you talk to people. And this is definitely NOT how the government should be talking to its citizens.

It’s time to bring back truth, decency, and common courtesy in America.

Make America America Again! #MA3
Official U.S. Government account refers to its citizens as "imbecilic morons".

I know everyone is struggling right now and the holidays are coming up. But my disability application is still pending and I don’t have enough money for rent next month.

I really don’t want to be homeless. Please, if you can spare anything, support me at coff.ee/EDSisSUCHaMESS

So remember when The Economist published a special report titled “The American economy, the envy of the world”?

Yeah, that was under Biden.
HANNITY: When do we really see the engine of the economy start to take off?

JD VANCE: Some of it is going to take a long time because we inherited a disaster

One of the most frustrating things about having #hEDS is that whenever the pain gets worse, the rest of my symptoms seem to worsen as well.

So besides what feels like multiple heated ice picks being used on different parts of my body, I also get the joy of worsened brain fog, vertigo, & gut issues.

I’m getting really sick and tired of the mainstream media interviewing members of the Trump administration and then letting them lie repeatedly with barely any pushback.

Your job is to report the truth, not platform a bunch of of pathological liars.

I was just casually re-reading the Declaration of Independence and came across a paragraph in the list of bad things King George had done and one of them was to reduce immigration into America.

That’s right, the Founding Fathers declared sovereignty because they wanted MORE immigrants.

Another great piece by Civitas.

Saw my pain management doctor today for trigger point injections. A rain cell is also heading for LA for the rest of the week, so pain has been especially terrible lately.

Please excuse me while I scream into a pillow for a few hours.

SCOTUS did something right for a change!

Although I’m still livid with the moderate Dems for reopening the government in return for almost no concessions, this decision does lessen the sting somewhat.

To the moderate Democratic Senators who voted Yes today:

You will go down in history as the people who took a mandate for change from their voters and then turned around and voted for the status quo.

Shame on each and every one of you.

I would like to bring you “Daddy went back outside to get the rest of the groceries instead of giving me treats as soon as he got home like he normally does.”

I honestly don’t understand how this is a hard decision. Most of Europe has evolved to become democratic socialists, while Republicans are turning America into an oligarchic autocracy.
November 10, 2025 at 2:38 AM
Senate Democrats need to HOLD THE FUCKING LINE!

Do NOT give up this fight!!
Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

The only silver lining I can see that might come out of this dark cloud of authoritarianism and evil is that everyday people are becoming energized.

If we can keep this momentum going after we 86-47, then we have a real chance to pass some meaningful legislation that will benefit every American.

It’s time for states like California, who pay far more to the federal government than they receive in federal funding, to stop sending our tax dollars to this corrupt administration.

And yes, I do know what that means.
