8. Before you indulge the urge to complain about “too much traffic” or “not enough parking,” learn all you can about induced demand, the law of congestion, and car dependency. Practice repeating to yourself the truth that “I’m not stuck in traffic, I AM traffic.”

No billionaire donors. No vested interests. No shady dealings from Tufton Street.

Just individuals coming together for the common good.

Inspiring stuff.

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

This is a great example of working together, so whilst ⁦‪@BristolCouncil‬⁩ acknowledges the road closure in Bedminster will cause inconvenience, I am grateful for the work to reduce it from 21 to 2 days thanks to joint works

It is not true “England cannot effectively subsidise travel costs”. Retired people get free travel. By freezing the fuel duty escalator we are subsidising car drivers, which compounds inequality. See more here: bettertransport.org.uk/media/groups...

No-one should have to choose between getting the bus to vital appointments, and paying for other essentials like phone credit, clothing or legal documents. Along with @edplowden.bsky.social I've written to @mayorhelengodwin.bsky.social to call for free bus travel for asylum seekers.
