"Defined benefit" superannuation schemes were grandfathered out for public servants years ago. Deemed a luxury the country could no longer afford. I did not know our self-dealing political masters had retained their defined benefit super schemes. Doesn't seem fair to the rest of us, does it?

Manufacturer Incat built Hull 096 to run between Buenos Aires and Uruguay, calling it their ‘most complex’ project ever
An Australian boatbuilder has launched what it describes as the world’s largest battery-power ship, describing it as a “a giant leap forward in sustainable shipping” and the “most important” project it has ever done.
Incat, a manufacturer based in Tasmania, constructed the ship – called Hull 096 – after being contracted by the South American ferry operator Buquebus to build a vessel to run between Buenos Aires and Uruguay. Continue reading...

The resignation of psychiatrists from Sydney’s Royal Prince Alfred hospital has led to the closure of a HIV psychiatry clinic with 200 patients, as well as a loss of specialist psychiatrist services for patients in the pain clinic and the most unwell eating disorder patients.
Minutes from a Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) and Balmain hospital medical staff council on 10 February, seen by Guardian Australia, also contain slides from a presentation about psychiatrist resignations that state “there is no HIV psychiatry clinic”.

Was explaining to an American today that in Australia, we do not respect or laud our politicians. We don’t build monuments like the Lincoln Memorial or the Washington Monument, but we do things like name a Swim Centre after former PM Harold Holt (who famously went missing on an ocean swim).
