So, just to confirm, the BBC can’t keep Robin Ince on the air because his trans allyship brings the organisation into disrepute, but they can keep David Walliams, who performed Nazi salutes at the recording of this very show, on the air despite him being predatory towards women. Cool. Very normal.

Oh, they absolutely do. We're all just here to be bit players in the glorious story of their meteoric success, and they don't understand why we won't turn the page.

We are having a lovely time watching films we haven't watched in a while.

But can we just revisit what a good film 'The Mitchells vs the Machines' is?

Dear AI bros, it's not AI itself we have a problem with, the kind that can detect cancers early or help people walk. May that continue. It's the content generation slop you foam at the mouth defending that we hate. It's theft and will never, EVER replace actual human creativity.

Merry Christmas Everyone. Pippin Christmas for hobbit lovers also.

The reason Die Hard is a Christmas Movie is because Santa also takes his shoes off after a flight and makes fists with his toes on your rug, just before he puts presents under the tree.

Where did it come from? Where did it go? No wait that's the 1994 club hit, Cotton Eye Joe. Sorry.
"has feminism gone too far" why where did it go, can it find its way back, does it have a map

Issue 492 of @starburst.bsky.social has many great features, including my interview with the legendary George Takei, who is 88 years-old. (He was lovely, we had a right old natter.)

There's Discourse about using genAI for writing research, and I want to add that every time I've done research (reading books, emailing the library, talking directly to experts, etc) I always stumble across something that inspires a new direction or adds depth that wouldn't have been there before.

What a special touch! When Craig began I thought - it’s probably Queen Camilla - knew she was a fan - lovely #strictly

Apparently in Manchester's Northern Quarter, a new 'Carnivores' restaurant has opened. It's ran exclusively by T-Rex.

I hear the food is great but the service is terrible due to staff issues.

They're always short-handed.

It's worse than that. If you try to fix it by changing the fluff / back-story, it actively resists.

Or to put it another way; I fought the lore, and the lore won.
I'm a little disturbed by the lack of balance in the licenced the Clash TTRPG. I've been looking at the pre-generated characters, and if my math is correct, one of them incapable of not succeeding in ANY skill check. Rudie can't fail.
