#r2u for #Rstats now also includes #BioConductor on arm64 and not only on standard amd64. Following the upgrade to #BioConductor 3.22 we added this hardware platform.

`zlibbioc` was removed so a few packages we have for amd64 could not be built. Should I backfill it (and them)?

The new device - designed for students, businesses and casual users - will target people who primarily browse the web, work on documents or conduct light media editing, according to people familiar with the matter. Apple is also targeting would-be iPad buyers who might prefer a traditional laptop experience instead. Code-named J700, the machine is currently in active testing at Apple and in early production with overseas suppliers. The Cupertino, California-based company plans to launch it in the first half of next year, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the product hasn't been announced.

This is a surprisingly poor article. Volatily can modeled, is used as a proxy for risk (the "unknown"), but is still (by construction and definition) a second moment, i.e. a model of _variability_ which is to say the _error term_.

#r2u now contains BioConductor 3.22 released yesterday for Ubuntu 24.04 and 22.04 (for the 500-some packages we cover, details at the site). #Rstats 4.5.2 has been built, we will update the containers in a few days as well.

Congressman @seancasten.bsky.social : Same plea as last week! Please ensure the work on the Tri-State Highway underpass at the Salt Creek Trail is done one day. The trail has been blocked here for years which is really rather sad.

Congressman @seancasten.bsky.social : the world clearly has bigger issues but if you could put a word in to have the Salt Creek Greenway trail repair at the Tri-State Highway actually be done and, gosh, finished one day then your 6th and my 7th district would be so much better connected.
