Mortgage math is a form of bond math and takeaway is that the damn *compounding* grows strongly with both _term_ (this $deityforsaken example) and _rates_ (which you may call expensive in historical terms). So... yeah. Be a bank if you can.

I used the first calculator that popped up.

#r2u is back with 162 (jammy) and 202 (noble, for arm64 and amd64) package "kittens" (well: .deb files) catching up for time lost since the last update Friday. Big thanks to the CRAN admins and the @posit.co folks for unplugging their piping, and to @glin.github.io for the heads-up. #rstats

Maintainer here. We have used Debian testing since the very beginning, and that is an explicit choice. Feel free to open an issue at the rocker repo if you have questions but this is not likely to change.

Congressman @seancasten.bsky.social : Same plea as last week! Please ensure the work on the Tri-State Highway underpass at the Salt Creek Trail is done one day. The trail has been blocked here for years which is really rather sad.

Congressman @seancasten.bsky.social : the world clearly has bigger issues but if you could put a word in to have the Salt Creek Greenway trail repair at the Tri-State Highway actually be done and, gosh, finished one day then your 6th and my 7th district would be so much better connected.

Here is an example of why the #rstats `qlcal` package (updated earlier today, see below) is useful as it contains six _business / exchange_ calendars thay can answer the question "was yesterday (i.e. Columbus Day) a holiday in the US" in an affirmative "not for stock or energy markets".
