So…it’s been more or less a corrupt oligarchy, save for a few notable exceptions, for a while now? Might be faster to create a list of who ISN’T corrupted by this!

Don’t look away- it’s too important
With current pledges, the world's on track for 2.6°C of warming in 2100 compared to preindustrial levels.

10 years ago, before the Paris agreement, it was 3.6°C

20+ years ago, we thought it would be 4-5°C

So 2.6°C is better, but the problem is that climate impacts are way worse than we predicted.
World still on track for catastrophic 2.6C temperature rise, report finds
Fossil fuel emissions have hit a record high while many nations have done too little to avert deadly global heating

Grok showed up in my Tesla this morning, and started speaking to me without me trying to trigger it.

I saw a tab called "conspiracy theories", clicked it and asked Grok about climate change.

This is what Elon Musk is telling Tesla drivers about climate change.

Americans are used to whiplash in their climate policy. The US has been in and out and in and out again of the key Paris climate agreement over the past four presidencies.

HUGE: The Trump administration will no longer permit any solar or wind projects on federal lands unless they produce more energy-per-acre than coal, gas or nuclear power plants.

Solar and wind literally produce less energy per acre, so simply this may just kill off any project on federal lands.

Honestly the fact that the ocean can just absorb so much of that energy - as if we needed another reason to love her 🌊 please stay safe and well away from the coast for anyone in the affected zones…

PSA: Despite apparently widespread confusion, a Tsunami Advisory specifically means that a tsunami has been generated *but is not expected to be large/destructive at a particular location*. It is not inherently an "upgrade" to a Tsunami Watch (as a Tsunami Warning would be).

We’ve collapsed ecosystems on land. Now we’re prepping to do it underwater. Deep-sea mining isn’t a risk. It’s a certainty. The only question is how many ecosystems we destroy before admitting it.
