I am being enriched this very second.

Gen AI is a tool of late stage capitalism, the goal of which is to cognitively disable everyone not in the elite class. To Sam Altman and co, the likes of you and me are NPCs, our role is to consume and spend so they can accumulate wealth and power. But it will only work if we allow it to.

When the New Atheists went full misogynist and Islamophobic, the sins of Western conservatism as a whole were laid at their feet while I saw leftists adopt positions about religion like "ah, but the noble third world savages are religious too! will you, a white person, tell them religion is bad?"

The seeds for this were planted in the 1990s, you guys. The right began investing in partisan media and a network of partisan nonprofits to fund and train ideological attack dogs 30+ years ago. It’s paying off for them now. What have liberals and progressives done? Get-out-the-vote ads on MTV?

Shoveling donor money into media institutions increasingly dominated by the right hardly solves the dilemma. 0:30 spots provide glimmers of clarity — but the funds that purchase those ads pay for hours of programming that overwhelm Dems’ measly clarifications.
We saw in the 24 presidential race and a few races since that large money advantages can’t clinch it. Traditional digital fundraising channels are swamped by spam. Mass media either no longer exists or is run by Nazis. Most platforms now owned by right-wing oligarchs. Etc. etc.

the thing to know about the ruination of new college is that adrianne black, trans daughter of white supremacist don black who founded the neonazi website stormfront, went to new college, made liberal friends and was deradicalized by them

degrading it into a conservative finishing school is revenge
The article accepts the idea that New College was a liberal enclave, and what is happening now is a rebalancing. I think this view is fundamentally wrong, embracing the assumptions of those who see their job as to save campuses from liberalism by any means necessary.

The first thing ICE did when it was created was raiding meat processing plants in the Midwest and south to help quell labor disputes over safety violations and keep those who weren't detained from getting legal protections as many had kids who grew up locally and were citizens with political power.

People keep mistaking genuine horror for politicking.

The people who supported the DOJ under Biden/Trump condone child rape. They defended officials who protected child rapists.

Other people saw this as a clear moral horror and condemned the DOJ. That's the actual divide. It's not between parties.
