Way too many people out there thinking this is some clever plot to make the GOP “own” the end of healthcare credits when it really just fits a long pattern of Dems giving up with nothing to show for it. Maybe I’m getting cynical, but I don’t believe this will do anything but make millions suffer. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I need those ACA subsidies.

My neighbors need food.

I’m not going to fault the only party that wants us to have both for only being able to secure the food.

Be mad at Republicans.
Be mad at your maga family.

Use the rest of your energy to give Democrats a majority.

Agree.

Sen Hassan, asked what will happen if Republicans don't carry out the deal, "Well, shame on them."

This is not what people were mobilizing for on Oct 18.

My family has been without our entire income for 40 days. It has been overwhelming.

We are ALSO willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are ALSO NOT willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Every. Fucking. Time.
I have been following national Congressional politics since I was a teenager in Obama I. This is how it always works. Regardless of their actual seat totals, The Democrats "somehow" always have just enough moderates (not too many or too little) that they concede to the GOP on every major issue.

When you question every politely- and clearly-laid out boundary because you cannot be convinced of why someone might need a boundary against something you want to know or do it makes you not the nice person. Boundaries only being ok if you personally would set the same ones isn't ok.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

I’m 44 years old and today was the first time I heard of Rosalind Franklin. And I’m grateful that this was my thing to learn about today

Back in junior high/high school in the 90s, we were only ever told about Watson and Crick.
Raising a glass for Rosalind Franklin tonight. James Watson absolutely did her dirty.

But beware...

Rosalind Franklin died at 37 of ovarian cancer attributed to radiation exposure from the methods she & her assistant used to photograph a cross-section of the DNA double helix.

Meanwhile, Watson won a Nobel off that work & survived to the ripe old age of 97 by simply: stealing those notes!

LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR: DOJ DID ALL OF THIS TO TRY AND STOP PAYMENTS TO PEOPLE UNDER AN ANTI-HUNGER PROGRAM.
Oh, this is wild.

DOJ went to SCOTUS *before* we got the First Circuit's administrative stay denial. (We know this because DOJ just filed a letter at SCOTUS about the admin stay denial.)

So, DOJ went to SCOTUS b/c the First Circuit did not meet its less-than-seven-hour "deadline" for a ruling.

Yes, some people's legacies are complicated. For example, Watson. After all, though he was racist, don't forget his other traits. For example, he was also sexist. And also anti-semitic. And a data / idea thief. So let's not forget all the different facets.
