Wow I do NOT like the AI upscaling in the Beatles Anthology remaster

I know complaining about social media is passe but pretty much every day on here I read a hot take so smug I should be owed reparations

Went to see Geese last night and it warmed my heart how much (and I mean this affectionately) first concert-ass behavior was going on. Singing whole songs back at the band. Crowd surfing starting three songs in, with hearty applause after each surfer. A rapturous reception for the opening act (!!)

It's Neil Young's birthday so today we celebrate his incredible music and his long prolific career and we overlook the weird Jamaican accent he uses on part of "Cortez the Killer" on the Live Rust album.

I don't have an informed opinion on that new Wuthering Heights movie but kicking off the soundtrack with a Charli XCX/John Cale collab feels micro-targeted to my household specifically

Help I’m doing this for every band I can think of
Sustainable band lineups include four cool people (Ramones), four dorks (Weezer), or two cool people and two dorks (Cheap Trick). Unsustainable band lineups include one cool person and three dorks (Pixies)

Rest in peace to Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, a man who seemed less repulsive than at least two of his bandmates

Ended up going way deeper on Sheila E.'s "The Belle of St. Mark" than I expected to (or, frankly, than it probably deserves), including a brief detour into the Venetian Carnival imagery that started popping up in Prince's aesthetic universe circa 1984. princesongs.org/2025/10/14/t...

The part of Orwell's 1984 that everyone forgets is how human music has been replaced by soulless, machine-generated pop songs. The AI attempt to take over the film and music industries is an attack on the human spirit. Boycott AI actors. Boycott AI bands. Support human artists.

I’m finally bearing down to finish Persona 5 and playing the third act nine months into Trump’s second term is… definitely interesting!

A fun thing they could do on the Outlaw Tour is have the headliners swap setlists, like I wanna hear Bob Dylan sing Soak Up the Sun

Today my 13yo sat down next to me while I was watching the Monkees and the questions he asked (“is this a Beatles song?”) made it clear he has no framework through which to interpret the Monkees. Not that he should, obviously! But this exactly is why boomers/gen x/millennials fear gen z/alpha

My official hot take about the ATWIAD reissue
Feel like others have complaining about the ATWIAD release itself covered, so I'll just continue beating my dead horse: Ever since the estate changed hands the merch has been nothing but tacky shit. I would love a good ATWIAD T-shirt, but none of these designs are it store.prince.com/collections/...

There *is* some comedic potential in a Spinal Tap-style satire of today’s “legacy” rock music industry, which is obviously stupid in very different ways from what existed in the early ‘80s. The problem is I have seen no evidence of it in this movie so far
I’m almost positive that the new Spinal Tap will be terrible and it bums me out so bad. Reminds me of the Zoolander sequel that was just a string of celebrity cameos.
